I'm really struggling to make a decision between the Johnny VixSkin or the Johnny Realistic. They are both the same dimensions, however one is more plush while the other has a more traditional silicone feel. Are there any major deciding differences between the two? Does the plush make the girth feel more or less overwhelming? Can one be cleaned more easily? Will one be more durable thus longer lasting? This toy is quite an investment so I would really appreciate any input, thanks!

We have the Johnny made of VixSkin - my wife absolutely loves it. The softer material definitely makes the girth easier - more comfortable for her. We have silicone toys of a similar size that will simply not use anymore because of this fact.

Thanks so much for your comment! I haven't tried any VixSkin products but I'm really curious. How do they hold up compared to regular silicone? Can they be boiled? I don't share toys but from time to time it's nice to clean everything.

Our VixSkin is relatively new - so I can't comment on durability. However we do use it a lot and it looks and feels as good as day 1. I wash it with hot soap and water after each use. According to Vixen it is ok to boil it.

Hard silicone products seem to have the 'forever' factor going for them. I fully expect the VixSkin to last a very long time - but maybe not forever.
BTW - we have the chocolate color and it looks as good as it feels.

I would pick the Vixskin for comfort. I have some traditional silicone toys, granted, they are durable, but insertion isn't as comfortable (especially anal!).

I have the Johnny Vixskin and really wish I had of gotten the normal silicone one. I find it rather uncomfortable.
I'm not totally sure why cause it's the shape I love and the majority of my dildos are larger. But he just is NOT comfy to me.

I love vixskin material. It is softer and makes girth easier to take.

Thanks, I think I'm really leaning towards the VixSkin right now! Everyone likes theirs plus I love how plush it looks. The pale dildos creep me the crap out, but chocolate...mmmm. Thank you for your comments

Is there a different amount of drag compared to other silicone products? too much bend?

There is more drag with plush silicone vs. harder silicone - but with the right amount of lube there should be no discomfort.

To much bend is hard to gauge. Many reviewers I've seen prefer the Lone Star to Johnny because the Lone Star has less bend.
We chose the Johnny because of the curve. The curve works the way we had hoped and although Johnny is bendable, it has not been a problem for us. We have not (and will not) try it anally - it's just too large for us - and I would expect it may bend too much for anal penetration.

I'd go Viskin.
I have a few Vixskin toys (Bandit, Goodfella, Spur), and also had the Small Realistic (which is the regular silicone version of Spur).
I like the Vixskin much better... but then again, I never liked the firmer toys.

Most of my vaginal toy s are glass so I'm used to firmer materials. It seems like the VixSkin is the way to go so I'm very excited about this

We love glass too - the soft Johnny VixSkin is a great change-of-pace. Be sure to write a review - we'd all love to hear what you think of Johnny.

I don't have the Johnny but I do have the Goodfella and I've not used another realistic dildo since getting it. Vixskin is amazing and easy to take care of, easy to store as well. I would definitely go for the Vixskin.

Vixskin sounds fantastic from what everyone has said! I'm super excited however people have mentioned the balls on the Johnny get in the way, so I may get the Maverick

I know this is probably really lame to post on my own thread, but I wanted to say thanks to everyone for their comments and input! I decided to buy the VixSkin Maverick instead of the Johnny and am so excited! Thanks again for the realistic dildo advice and experience : )

General maintenance differences? Ease of cleaning? Sterilizable?

We have no problems cleaning the VixSkin material. We don't sterilize our toys with the exception of a periodic alcohol wipe down about every 3 months.

Will the density differences make one more or less overwhelming?

Yes density matters. The Johnny is larger than many other toys we have - but the soft texture allows my wife to comfortably use the VixSkin material.

I have the Vixskin Lone Star and in comparison to another large non-Vixskin dildo I have it is much easier to handle. Still very filling, but without the same stretching pain that I have to breathe through with the other toy. I definitely prefer Vixskin material to almost any other.

Does the difference in material provide different amounts of friction?

Yes there is more drag than a smooth silicone toy. With adequate lube we have not found this to be a problem.
05/24/2011
When I first got a Vixskin toy I found it to be almost sticky in feel. I was initially a bit turned off but at this point I barely even notice it (I'm tempted to go feel it right now to make sure it even still feels that way). There definitely is some drag when dry, but it lubes up very nicely and feels extremely realistic in use.

Does the extra give of the VixSkin decrease g-spot stimulation significantly?

The VixSkin Johny does more than g-spot stimulation. The size is great for deeper AFE & PFE stimulation. G-spot stimulation is just a warm up for my wife now - to orgasm she prefers deeper stimulation.

Vixskin!

Vixskin also feels more like a real cock so it will offer a more realistic experience.

Vixskin for sure. Safer, will last longer and likely be easier to care for too.
