I personally think something like the Amethyst, Bent Graduate, G-Spot Pink, or Icicles 31 are great for beginners. They don't have too much girth and there's a smooth end and a bulbed end so you can experiment with texture on glass

I like a smooth texture. My first glass was icicles 17, and I still love it!

Seconding the suggestion for the Amethyst. It's small-ish but has a great G-spot curve. Very unintimidating for beginners to glass.
