I find some of the colored, non-natural looking Toys to be creepy looking actually; I way prefer realistic Dildos. Otherwise, They seem way too removed from a true sexuality experience. It is true that the realistically detailed ones can go too far with detail and romanticize the true experience. But I'd rather have an accentuated experience as opposed to a completely removed experience. I do have some colored Toys but only on the merits that they get the job done well. I am way more attached to my realistic toys.

I certainly wish that they made more non-realistic colorful VixSkin/O2/real-feel silicone toys, but I do realize that the people who gravitate towards "real-feel" probably are more interested in "real-look" as well. Pity, but that's true. It seems that large dildo offereings in general seem to be weighted more towards the realistic than the non-realistic.

I find the realistic looking dildos to be kind of unnerving actually. As much as I love penises, they feel most right to me when they're warm and attached to someone.
Also, I like having my partner use my toys on me and I feel like it might be weird for him if I brought in a huge, veiny, caramel-coloured dildo...like there was a third person in bed with us, or like there was some competition. I don't want him to compare himself to a piece of molded jelly.

Chiming in to agree with the folks supporting crazy colors. Realistic dildos are creepy. Like a dead, disembodied penis. It's not about the fantasy for me, it's about the sensation. With a realistic dildo, I definitely prefer skintones. Usually with nonrealistic dildos I buy colored variations. However, I would love to buy a colored realistic dildo, but overall I would much rather have a realistic one in a skintone. It simply looks more like a real cock.

I don't care about the color as my primary criteria as long as the dildo is aesthetically pleasing overall. That being said - if a dildo is meant to look realistic, such as the VixSkin line, my opinion is that it looks better in a flesh tone. I'd personally be a little weirded out by a life-like penis in neon green. I do like less realistic/stylized dildos in all sorts of fun colors - the brighter the better.
