Depends a lot on the individual toy. Some without suction cups can still have a fair amount of suction, depending on how the base is made. The best way to find out if a toy can stick in place before ordering is to read the reviews.

You could also try a toy shape from Liberator. They're specially-designed pillows with pockets for holding onto toys while the user rides them. I've got a BonBon myself, and it works great.

Agreed on the second point. I also have a BonBon, and it works well for most of my toys.
