Dildo Turning Colors After Condom Use?

hey everyone,

so, i've had my crystal jellies ballsy cock for almost a year now. everytime i use the toy, i use it with a condom for safety purposes. just today, i noticed that the toy itself is becoming discolored on the parts where past condoms came in contact with the toy. it's slowly turning a golden yellow color and it looks pretty bad. other than the color change though, everything else about the toy seems to look/feel the same.

has anyone else had a similar issue? i'm not sure whether to throw it away or not. i assume it's only going to get worse the more times i put a condom on it. and given that there's some sort of chemical reaction going on, i'm not so sure i feel comfortable using it anymore either.

just wondering if anyone out there had a same or similar issue. thanks!

I'm surprised no one else has responded to this, because discoloration is a pretty common occurrence with jelly toys. It may have happened whether you used a condom with it or not, but you were smart and used condoms. I wouldn't suggest that you use it without condoms, so if you are making a choice between using it without a condom or throwing it away and replacing it, then I think you would be better off throwing it away and replacing it. If you want to continue using it while wrapped in a condom, then I think you'll still be fine. The condom is there to protect you and it has done its job so far. Good luck!

Its fairly common with lower quality materials, and 1yr of use for that type of material is a pretty good life.

I personally would replace it and just for a few dollars more you can upgrade to TPR link

Jelly and even TPR can and often do change color or cloud over the course of time, with or without the use of a condom. The good news is that you were using a condom each time you used it, so you won't have to worry about it causing you reactions if you keep using it with a condom. I'd toss it, like HHSM says, a year out of jelly is pretty good. Go ahead and get yourself one in a higher quality material

I'd never heard of that happening! Of course, I'm not too into realistic dildos, but I have had jelly and TPR toys. Are you washing it after each use?

I'd toss it, or retire it, and get a new one. It only gives you more of a reason to do some shopping on here.

It hasn't happened to me with my old jelly type toys but they changed color from storage, the atmosphere, and my fluids. I tossed them a few years ago.
With a condom, your toy is still safe but as Sam suggested, get more durable material, silicone is great.

Jelly is the most likely to go "funny", TPR is slightly better, but I have never had a problem with any of my silicone toys (going on 9 years for the first one, and I don't take special care of them).

Silicone is the way to go for soft toys, and now they aren't that much more expensive than the other options.

thanks for all the responses! this was one of my first toys i ever purchased and definitely not one of the safest in terms of material quality. pretty much everything else in my collection is made of either plastic or silicone and relatively body friendly. so, i'll probably retire this one and upgrade to silicone or something.

i knew it was relatively common for jelly toys to have weird chemical reactions. i guess i just didn't think a reaction would be caused by something there to protect me and the toy in the first place. oh well, an excuse to treat myself to a new toy!

That has happened to one of mine but it just gave me an excuse to replace and upgrade it.

This happened to a jelly vibrator/bullet toy I have. It's still fully functional, just has an icky yellow-brown discoloration on the jelly part.
