Black marks on my white Ella: What do I do?

Did you try washing with soap and water? It could be from the manufacturing or packaging process.

I would wash it in hot water and soap. If regular hand soap doesn't work I would try something stonger like Dawn. If that didn't work I would put it in the dishwasher. If that didn't work I would send it back! I know the box it comes in is black, but that shouldn't stain the toy! If I couldn't get mine clean I would send it back. I hope you like your Ella, I love mine!

Honestly, if it were me and it was fresh out of the box, I would want to send it back..

If it does not come clean with a simple washing I would send it back.

I'd try to clean it with soap and water or a bleach water solution. If that doesn't work, I'd send it back.

I agree with others, if you can't get rid of the smudges send it back. This is one of the reasons I like to stay away from light coloured toys.

I'd try a few different things first; various soaps, various methods of cleaning, try everything first... then if you still have marks on it... what do you want to do? Have a perfect white Ella? Then send it back. If you like the character of the marks, keep it.

Try to clean it good, and it is still not fine just send it back.

Agreed! That's what I would do too!

I'm a germ freak, it would be the manufacturers mistake, not EF's but I'd totally send it back for a new one. I'd just be too worried about it even if I cleaned it and it came off.

if they dont come off after a washing i would send it back

Thanks, everyone!

I wouldn't even attempt to clean it first. I would send it back. You purchased the product and it should come to you in "brand new" condition. Not marked or flawed.

I agree with a lot of other people. Try to clean it and see if it washes off. If not, then I would return it.

If you're really concerned about it, return it either way. Better to feel comfortable with something you're using in such an intimate way, than to worry about it. Right?

I would send it back after cleaning it.

imperfections= refund!
05/21/2012
That does not sound good.

Some of the marks came off or got lighter, but the silicone underneath lost the velvety smooth feeling and had a lot of drag, :/

I saw this on your review. I was thinking to myself "send that sucker back!"
05/22/2012
doesn't sound like the reviews, so there might be something wrong with just that one. return and get one that doesn't have that problem.
05/22/2012
i would send it back
05/23/2012
If it changed the texture that doesnt sound like just marks from the box, which is what I was thinking! It's not too late to send it back. I liked your review!

Thanks for the advice! I created a support ticket.

That is so weird, I would contact the manufacturer before you send it back and maybe they will give you another for free.

I would try to clean it with toy cleaner and if it didn't come off I would return it. Hope it works out for you!
