Hey! I think it's great you want to start trying out toys. A few things to consider are whether or not you think you'll like length over girth or girth over length. And then you can move onto the different types of materials.
I, personally, prefer glass or silicone materials as they are non-porous and don't require condoms to keep them bacteria-free. They're a little more expensive, sometimes a lot more expensive but it's really worth it if you think about how many toys you may end up throwing out due to porous materials.
I like non-veined and toys that have veins but aren't overly pronounced with a slim girth. Investing in a good water based lubricant is also a good idea. I like the Sliquid collections.
Everyone is going to suggest different things and it's going to take trial and error before you find something you really like. Out of the dozens of toys I've tried, there are only three or four that I use all of the time. One of those is the Icicles No 17.
