They smell terrible and it never fades, you can't sterilize them either.

PVC has a chemically smell that sticks to your hands. It's pretty nasty.

I have found that most things give off a smell, with the exception of stainless steel or silicone.

The smell is bad, but there are plenty of other reasons not to buy PVC/rubber/jelly toys (durability, health, cleanliness).
