Glass has much to offer as a sex toy material (safety, temperature play, texture, aesthetics) but until recently glass toys have been relatively expensive in comparison with even silicone toys. Luckily there are a few dildos out there that are starting to bridge that cap, creating wonderful entry-level glass toys that anyone can enjoy. The question at hand...which of these "affordable" (meaning under $50) glass dildos is the best and why?

Glass toys are known for their sculptural design features...so which of these seems the most artistically interesting?

The snake of paradise definitely looks good.
02/10/2011
I love glass toys!!
02/11/2011
Snake of Paradise is awesome looking.
03/06/2011
I look at what is most artistically designed yet functional for me. I liked the Indigo intruder. What an awesome name!
03/06/2011
I'm happy that FF has so much Toy Joy Glass Worxx (4 toys in this poll alone). I love my Shiny Orglassm - it's similar to some of the icicles that FF already carries but still different. I got it for about $20.
03/08/2011
The snake looks the most intriguing, but possibly painful, lol.
03/08/2011
I like the looks of the snake
03/11/2011
Snakey is interesting
03/11/2011
Love the snake!
03/11/2011
For beginners, as I was when I bought it, I'd recommend the Icicles no. 8, it's lovely, intriguing and feels good to boot. But the Snake of Paradise is a beautiful toy I would love to get my paws on ^_^ I also would definitely NOT recommend the Taffy Tickler. Those rubber things collect EVERYTHING. Blech.
03/12/2011
The ones with a lot of texture look WAY intense for a beginner - seconding Icicles No. 8.

The sapphire waterfall I think is nicest looking but I want them all
04/26/2011
I'm getting one similar to the Snake Paradise (Amber Wave), but that looks like a ton of fun!
To be honest, I've had a fetish for glass lately. I want all of them. Especially the Rainbow Nubby to compliment the Rainbow Wand!

The highly textured ones are way too bumpy for me! I like the Mercedez.

Indigo intruder is my vote for g-spot stim. Second would be icicles no.8 because of the versatility.

I just started collecting glass toys since the facebook friends discounts have started. I got both of mine for $7.50 each, LOVE the rainbow nubby for anal play, but hurts vaginally (odd, I thought it would be the other way around if at all) I am waiting for my second one, since I just bought it yesterday, lol.
11/09/2011
So sad about how many of these were discontinued!
11/09/2011
Definitely the snake of paradise would be the most intriguing design imo. I'm not sure how comfortable it would be to use though.
11/20/2011
the snake seems most fun to me
11/21/2011
I like the indigo best b/c of the coloring. I love blue design to it.

I picked the Indigo Intruder because it would be awesome to have a glass toy similar in shape to my Njoy Pure Wand. (Though the Sapphire Waterfall looks great, too!)
09/04/2010
I really like the look of the Sapphire Waterfall - all bubbly. I've heard the Taffy Tickler is just painful, but I may be thinking of another in that line.

If you are searching for glass toys are you searching for a good value, something that fills a particular niche, a toy that you would love to display in your living room? What is it about glass toys that is most appealing? Since these toys are often more expensive is value so important with glass toys or is it more about quality and aesthetic design concerns?

Lol - I could never display one of these in the living room. Well, maybe the snake .
I think it's more the aesthetic design and their usefulness. Although, I will admit, I do have a glass candy cane.

05/03/2009
I think design (shape, function, execution) & colour (how it catches the eye) are foremost; secondary would be value & storage packaging. Heavily padded bags always get more of my immediate attention, though that can be sacrificed for greater benefits in design, colour and value.
05/03/2009
For glass, I look for (in order):
1. price
2. beauty
3. size
4. shape
1. price
2. beauty
3. size
4. shape
05/04/2009
Quality, color, design, uniqueness.

Quality
Uniqueness
Functionality
Price

Price
05/29/2009
The price is definitely the first and foremost consideration. The shape and feel is also important, and I want colors that please the eye even if the piece isn't the most artsy one out there. I have glass butt plugs that are both solid colors, and I have no problem with the fact that their coloring isn't fancy. Mostly it's about the feel for me, though. I like getting a feel for the weight and the texture and the curvature of the actual toy before buying it, which is actually one reason I've never purchased a glass toy online.

I would love to display the snake of paradise it just looks so cool! I have displayed my glass wand as a wand and gotten a few funny comments. It's a great conversation starter! The waterfall type toys look almost like they could be blown glass art so with a pretty wooden stand or just a highly polished wooden block as a stand it could be the most functional art you ever owned. LOL I'd definately display mine.

I look for something beautiful first of all! Then most of the time I realize it's too expensive... So I guess when I'm browsing I put design/aesthetics first, but when I'm buying I put the price first - sigh.
01/24/2011
I like the aesthetics, but the quality and cleanliness definitely helps.
02/10/2011
Because there's no give, I prefer a glass toy to have a curve to fit my body better.
But it also has to look really nice cause it will be on show in my display cabinet.

03/06/2011
I look at price too, then design/functionality. When I'm just "window shopping" I put design/aesthetics first though. There are some really beautiful glass toys on here!
03/06/2011
I look for something that looks like it should feel good, find a few, then look at price and debate
03/08/2011
I look for something with nice color and shape as well as the right girth and length
03/11/2011
I look at shape and size first then price, color is the last consideration.

I think it's usually a toss up between function and design for me. I really love most anything glass so picking one just for play is really hard because I love to look at them almost as much.
04/26/2011
Shape then price.
04/26/2011
The snake would look pretty cool to display.
07/07/2011
I don't have any glass yet, but I'd be looking for:
Shape/Size- Is it going to hit the target and fit comfortably
Price-
Coloring

Price-
Coloring
11/21/2011
I look for a curved shape, and to see the textures. Most textures are too much for me, especially if they are bumpy.
04/20/2012
Beauty and shape!
04/22/2012
i don't think i will ever use glass toys ,but i might get one to look at if ever
04/23/2012
How it looks and the texture.
04/23/2012
Shape is the most important for glass since it's very unforgiving, followed closely by texture.
05/11/2012
The look of it. I just like buying all different types, but I'll most likely buy it if it's real pretty.
06/26/2012
Price, shape, appearance, size.

Primarily the design I need to get me off, next price, third color/beauty

I'd have to go with the G-Spot Gemstone over the Rainbow Mega Nubby, and only because I love my g-spot. Otherwise I'd definitely buy the Rainbow Mega Nubby. Both are in my wishlist!
05/03/2009
I love the Snake, but I'd like to try the Waterfall.
05/03/2009
I like the diamond dazzler because it is purple! and glass so you can't go wrong...
05/03/2009
The Indigo Intruder looks wonderful for g-spot stimulation.
05/03/2009
I bought a rainbow mega nubby and have been fervently recommending it ever since.
05/04/2009
Unfortunately, I found out the hard way that hard, very bumpy surfaces like those on the mega nubby cause me a great deal of pain, so those are all out of the question for me, drool-worthy though they are. I have a simple glass dildo (which is unfortunately not offered on EF) that has a shape between the icicle and the sapphire waterfall. We both absolutely adore it, and if we hadn't just made a large toy purchase or two, the sapphire waterfall would be high on the list of things to get next.
05/04/2009
I would love to get a hold of the Icicles one....
07/31/2010
I think I'd go either with the snake or the Indigo intruder (correction - the Indigo intruder. My wife says that she doesn't like snakes and there's no way one is going *there*).
It's curved (curves make it easier to find the spots in any case and insertion for anal play is easier), smooth, and has a nice head.
The new SSA options aren't on this list, because it predates them.

The Sapphire Waterfall, even though it's more expensive than some options. I like the shape and aesthetics of it best.
01/24/2011
I'd opt for the Snake one, just because I think it's gorgeous.
03/06/2011

07/07/2011
I'd get teh indigo intruder, simply because I do not have a toy in that shape/design yet.
11/20/2011
I can't believe the snake of paradise was discontinued! I was all ready to snatch one up I do have the Amber Wave though, which is similar though not as pretty.
04/20/2012
Snake of Paradise! ~pouts pouts pouts!
04/22/2012
For an affordable glass toy, I'd go with the Bent Graduate - can't go wrong.
05/11/2012
She has a few (11) different glass toys, and she always goes back to the ones that are curved like the Indigo Intruder.
