I think for starters you should go for something smooth and simply shaped. Slim is always a good idea too. If you are very very new to things I think you should start with something around 5 inches long or less and slim, smooth and if you plan on moving up from this then start with jelly toys or silicone.

I'd go with the Euphoria. It's pretty easy to insert, works as well as an Aneros, and costs quite a bit less.

I would start with small, smooth, tapered butt plugs. They are the gentlest intro to anal. And hey, they are always handy to have around even when you move on to bigger things.
