I'm looking to find a good toy for anal play. I enjoy anal sex, but I dont do it as often as I like because it takes quite a bit of time to warm up and relax. I'm looking for a toy that will be fun to use and make anal sex easier too. The 2 that I have for comparison are ones that I saw and liked, but I am open for any other suggestions or recommendations.
Which anal toy would you reccomend for someone who is relatively new to anal play

Of the two choices I would go with the Ace. To me, the Ripple's base is to small to be safe. You could also look at the Ryder, it is a bit bigger than the Ace but I think it will help more in the stretching department.

Ace

Ace small or Ryder would both be very good.

I say go with the Ace.

between those two, the ace.

Ditto for Ryder. Stretches nicely, has a give to it, and stays seated.

I've heard good things about the Ryder, but I have not tried it.
Between those I'd say the Ace, squishy is probably best for a first plug. I did the Pure Plug as my first (Bootie is also on the way, just the Pure Plug got here first). Hard made it super easy to go in, but I think a silicone would be more comfortable, especially for long periods.
Just make sure to be relaxed. Otherwise I've been told it can be painful, even dangerous.

I would recommend Fun Factory Bootie personally.

I would try the Tantus Ryder.

The ace, but either of these would make great starters!

I agree with a lot of suggestions on here.
The Ryder has a better base than the Ace and it will provide for more stretch.
If you are worried about size, than the Bootie is a great choice.

I'll be the odd man out and say I like the ripple. I think the glass is beautiful but the base is a bit on the small side. If it concerns you the Ace would be a better choice.

I like the ripple too, but more for teasing than anal prep. More of a two-finger than three-finger stretch for me. While it is pleasurable, it pops out easily, which is frustrating when I need my hands free.

the ripple is pretty

Glass is the best for those new to anal play - firm and smooth.
04/20/2011
Ace

I think I may go with the ryder...Thanks for all your suggestions.
The glass toys are very nice and I may buy one eventually, but I really want more or a stretching than stimulating toy.

As a prep for anal sex, I love the Ryder for my initial warm-up and then move on to larger plugs; Tantus Infinity and of course my Pure Wand.
The Ace is good but doesn't work to well as a thrusting plug for me...

The Ripple is pretty, but the base is worryingly small.

I picked other. I started off with the crystals anal jelly starter. I know, ewww jelly! But, it was perfect. Its very small, and easy to use.

Silicone. It's much easier to start with something soft.

Seconded. Remember that glass has NO give to it. Silicone is much better for a beginner.

The ryder looks fun.

Our first anal toys were glass, and I think that is probably the best way to go. It's smooth, hard, and won't flex or drag against your skin.

I would definitely go with the Ace. The Violet ripple has a shape similar to one I tried recently, and I found that the head was just too big.

Ooh. The Ryder looks great.

Both have great reviews, but the Ace might be better for a beginner
08/25/2011
Ace all the way
08/25/2011
Get the Ace in place!

If you haven't chosen already I'd get one from Tantus.

The KEY TO YOUR BUTT toy is superb for beginner play, and anal sex warm up...but has NO base (does have a KEY RING base), so it is ONLY for play with someone else holding firm to the end. The size, however, is perfect for a beginner. The ACE plug here is great for a safe, stay in plug.

I went with the Tantus B Bomb... I really am liking the quality of tantus. I love that it silicone so I can sterilize it and my man can use it too. I think we may invest in the A Bomb too.

Ace plug small is a great starter toy, especially if you are sensitive imo.

Something with a 1" diameter or less is good for starters.

there are lots of wonderful plugs but the key is to take it slow and lube up!

I like my small toys along with my larger ones. I try to enjoy the little things. I can tell you that if you're new to anal play, the Ace has a lot to offer. It's comfortable enough to wear to work or sleep in. It feels sexy. It's made without a seam, so you won't feel anything but the high quality silicone. It's squishy. It's sleek. It's easy to clean and sterilize. Glass is usually not the best choice as a starter plug. Go with the Ace as an anal cherry popper.

Glass-Sasha Gray. Steel- Njoy Pure Plug
01/21/2012
Get both. You start out with the Ace to get used to backdoor play, then you'll go to the Violet and love it more - even though it is more substantial to take.
01/21/2012
definitely start with the Ace. as stated above the ripple seems like it has a small base which doesn't seem safe. it all depends on the price range and material preference you have, there are plenty of plugs available here that will work well for you.

glass can be weird if your new to anal, i say ace for you

Ace plug is what I would get

03/20/2012
Did I say Ace? A toy with a more gradual taper and smaller base would be better.
03/21/2012
ace is a nice beginner to intermediate toy.
03/21/2012
the ace looks good
03/21/2012
The Ace seems just right.
