Which anal plug would be best for a first time user?

I'm comfortable with anal play, I've used a dildo before. But never a plug and these two are two of the main ones that caught my attention :)

I've used toys before but they were all pretty small, but I am comfortable with stretching. I'm not sure if it would be best to start with a small plug, or one about the same size as other toys I've used. And oh god, I just realized I wrote two but wanted to compare all of these. I had forgotten I decided to include the smaller one as well :/ Sorry

I would say skip the jelly/rubber/TPR plugs and go with silicone--you won't regret it, especially if you plan on using it for a longer period of time. The Bootie is a favorite around here. The downside to these lesser materials (particularly the jelly and rubber) is that they have to be covered with a condom, and that's just not worth it. The money you save on condoms could be put to better use in buying a higher quality toy in the first place.

Regarding size, I would say start with something a bit smaller and work your way up. 4" in circumference (1.25" in diameter) is a good starting place, it's about the circumference of two fingers, so, if you know you can handle two fingers fine, go for 4" (1.25") or 4.25" (1.35"). If you want to go larger, get something with a gentle taper, such as the Flirt or Screw.

Go with 100% silicone. BUDDY is a ok plug. small in size and easy to insert.

It's obvious what the best material is, and usually I'm big on that, but the other two look so good too! Has anyone else used anal toys with some less safe materials?

I've used jelly, some sort of TPR, and silicone plugs. Silicone is by far the best. My jelly toys sometimes tore because they weren't very strong, and they leeched colors/melted. After seeing that, I was wary of putting them in my body. I prefer not having to use condoms because my toys are now silicone and just for me.
