Stinging during First-Time Plug Use, Help?

Contributor: Alegria Alegria
This is the first butt plug I've ever used, The Small Love Pacifier with a System JO water-based lube.

There was a little resistance putting it in but it's been stinging ever since. I put it in for the first time about an hour and a half ago, took it out, relubed it and have been wearing it for the last hour.

I thought discomfort was supposed to go away, or at least lessen significantly. It's a lube my body has previously been fine with so I don't think it's that.

Am I doing something wrong here? Am I missing something? Because I'm not finding this pleasurable at all.

Just took it out and I feel sore and dirty. Don't know if I'll be trying this again anytime soon.

Have you tried the lube for anal stimulation before? I know that some lubes can cause burning or discomfort for anal even though they work fine for vaginal penetration.

I haven't. It doesn't have glycerin but it does have parabens so that might be the problem.

Sounds likely to be the lube. I've encountered lubes that cause "burning" before when used anally. Also, it's not a bad idea to seduce your ass before putting things in it. Spend a little more time playing with your ass externally, get used to this then you can try a finger inside. Only once you can comfortably enjoy a couple of fingers are you ready to even think about toys. Don't surprise your ass!

I'm going to be trying my first soon, and this helps a lot. I'll be sure to look out for good lubes to avoid the ickiness :]

If you want a good recommendation I would go with Maximus, it's a little thicker which is what you want for anal play, and I seriously doubt you will have a reaction to it. It's also sold on this site!

Im curious to this too. Sometimes (using the same lube each time) I can have anal play without an issue and then others times it stings. If I do have anal play and I take the toy out, neither it or any other toy can go back in without the stinging. Weird - I can't work out whats doing it.
So if you find what stops yours Alegria, I'd be very interested in knowing.

Could be the lube or perhaps not enough lube. If you are not relaxed, your butt will not cooperate. Could also be hemorrhoids?
The plug you are using should work easily.

I wouldn't seriously doubt a reaction - Maximus also has parabens.

Probe Thick and Rich isn't as thick, but it seems to not cause reactions in many people (note-does contain some glycerin)

Could try the thicker Sliquid lubes, the booty formula or the gel. Both are all natural and will help you determine if it's a lube issue.

I would think the type of discomfort you are experiencing would help to decide if it is from the toy or the lube. For me personally, if I insert something too large or before I'm ready, it's a pretty sharp pain that continues for a little while as the sphincter spasms from over stretching. However, I typically find this pain resolves shortly once I start to relax. Fortunately I have yet to experience a reaction to lube, but I would think that wold persist more even after removing the toy unless you wipe it all off. I could be wrong, but I would think it wold be more of a burning sensation vs. sharp pain. Hope the issue resolves for you so you can enjoy the plug.

I'll get to the point...You may have a fissure from anal strain due to bowel movements.

If you want to experiment more with different types of lubes, you might give Anal Lube (by California Exotics) a try if some of the others which have been suggested don't work for you.

I agree. That is a great one.

It's not hemorrhoids. I doubt it was the lube now because all pain went away within 5 minutes of removing the toy. Think I just went too big too fast?

That would be my guess. Next time just add some more warm up time and maybe start with a small vibe on the outer area, this helps me to relax fully and it feels real good too.

I love Maximus, but I do have burning with it sometimes. Freaking parabens. I also have hemorrhoids, though. Don't know why, but I have since I was little. Pisses me off. I wanna have a happy booty! And I didn't know I had hemorrhoids until I went to the doctor. Maybe you have them and don't know? Maybe not. It's hard to tell. Could be what everyone else has said. Wrong lube, not relaxed enough, etc.

Fingers!! Start off with a lubed finger rubbing around the anus for a while, then going inside. Often the anus will contract at "first contact" and "foreplay" will get you through that.
