I had one in when we went to dinner last night..about three hours wear. Then we came home and it was late, but hubby pulled it out and immediately replaced it with his tool. After he came in me, about twenty minutes or so, he popped the plug back in "so I wouldn't leak and wet the bed" till I got up to go potty (he was still busy licking my breasts and kissing me). Well. we BOTH fell SOUND asleep, and we slept a solid NINE hours before the dogs woke us up!!!! Thus, for the most part, I had a "plug" in me for over 12 hours. When I did realize it was in, I went to the bathroom, but it was NOT "too" stuck or dry (probably since he had deposited a nice load of sperm in me before putting it back in, plus had used a BIG dose of silicone lube prior to anally enjoying me. He also had re-lubed the plug with a big dollup of lube before putting it back in my tushy, despite the fact I was wet and slippery at that point.

Anyway, it was a twelve hour "plug a thon" and my tail is no worse for wear. In fact, if my dear hubby comes in from working on the yard, I will have him sit HIS tush in this office chair, and take him back up MY tush while finishing my EF notes for the day.

For long term wear: Invest in a good quality, thin stemmed plug that stays put, and a good thick lube. Non-porous stainless & glass tend to stay lubed longer, a curved plug is better, a good flared base is a must.

I prefer the NJoy Pure Plug large, typically worn 6-8 hours at a time, mostly for the naughty factor and always for the great fun afterwards, g/f likes her Pure Plug medium. Sometimes I sleep with mine in, never had a lube problem with removal. Everyone's different, re-lube as needed. Usually after a bathroom break and hot shower you should be able to wear one around a good while. (Always take a break and remove it if there is any pain or major discomfort, there should be none). Sometimes there may be very minor discomfort for beginners when first starting out, this is normal and usually goes away after an hour or so.

One trick I tried with this stainless plug (If I go out) was to weave a folded paper napkin or paper towel around the inner ring figure-eight style and lightly saturate it with some thick long-lasting skin moisturizing lotion like Aveeno daily moisturizing lotion link Stops it from chafing and a very comfortable topical lotion for longer term wear, works great. (This method actually provides a little extra lube to the plug stem area which can help keep you comfortable after several hours).

Long term wear quickly gets easier with practice, work your way up gradually. I often wear this plug out in public with no worries. Get the right plug and a thick, long-lasting lube and have some fantastic naughty fun!

I am a big fan of butt plugs, but I have been reluctant to wear them for more than a couple of hours. Obviously, if it starts to hurt you should take it out, but aside from that, is there a point where you are leaving it in too long? I've done overnight once. Safety wise there isn't a big deal from wearing them a long time, but it just seems like it could get inconvenient and ... messy now and then. After a while I do find that it gets a bit uncomfortable as the lubricant dries out or rubs off, and I'm not sure how to deal with that. Oil lubes seem to work better, but they're messier on clothing.

Generally now I keep my "plugged time" to ~4 hours max because of the lube thing. Removing a plug that's lost it's lube is not too fun. less

I've wore one for about 8 hours during school and work one day. It was fairly small and didn't seem to cause any problems for me.

I've also wore a large plug(2" diameter) for a couple hours while waiting for my boyfriend to come home without any problems. less
