And this was just today. Would they not tell their customer service reps what you're telling us here? Hmmm. Just wondering if you can shed some more light on the situation for me, since customer service isn't helping so so much. Thanks!

Because, while it's true they aren't currently taking new editors, the program is likely to open up at some arbitrary time in the future when it is decided more editors are needed.
Customer service people, in my experience, often have more know-how about the FAQ (where is my order, why doesn't my giftcard work, how do I request a product) and the more obscure questions aren't things they DEAL with on a regular basis, whereas people on the forums have been asking these questions since the program debuted so we have all the answers at the tips of our fingers.
