Hi, everyone. After using all your wonderful reviews in starting up my sex toy collection, I've reached the point where I'm very excited to write my own thoughts. I'm 21, a college student, and I really sex toys. I can't believe how genuine, intelligent and supportive this community is. I've submitted three (one currently waiting on an editor), and I can't wait to keep writing. I'm hoping to become an advanced reviewer, and I'd love it if you experienced users out there could check out my reviews and see if you think I'm ready for your vote. All right, I certainly will. What is it exactly? I had trouble getting an idea about what it was. Does it just mean an experienced user gives you comments on your reviews?

It's a few things! A mentor is typically someone who helps you improve your reviews, but they are also someone you can ask all of your site questions. To find out more click here. To apply for a mentor, go to 'account' at the top of your page, go down to 'mentor program' and check out the mentor list.

Thank you for the information. That's very helpful. Do you think I can simultaneously begin a mentor program and leave my upgrade request active? It seems like a great program, but I don't want to cancel my request! Hah! I guess I'm excited to potentially be an advanced user :-p

You would be an advanced user once you graduated anyway. Plus, students get more frequent review products than advanced. There's nothing extra or special that comes with being an Advanced Reviewer until you are writing useful reviews that are bumping your rank.

My browser froze as I was trying to answer this, but yes, BBWTT is correct. You can stay in the upgrade queue but you get the same benefit from completing a course with a mentor successfully as you do with being voted in.

Thanks for all the replies, everyone! It turns out I'm going to go through the student program, and since I'd like to reward my generous mentor for the work, don't give me any more votes! I sent in a request to have my upgrade canceled. Thank you so much for voting though!

good luck spencer! i was Corabell's student and she graduated me not long ago so now im advanced user, i have reviewed 2 free assignment items but i frequently use my points to get items, and also do some video reviews if item doesnt have one done yet, to get $25 GC

huh, where does it say that you get 25 bucks for doing a video review on items that don't have any? can you post a link? if so I think I may start posting video reviews

There's this thread and also this thread.

In summary, all videos have to be approved by Carrie Ann. Something may be out for video review and EF does not want more than 1 Video Review and 1 Adult Review on each product. There's also the Video Review Program, but you're only eligible (per my understanding) once you've reached a 6.0 rank. You would basically get an additional review toy for each month to review specifically for the intention of making a video.

yep, u email Carrie Ann to ask if u can do one on a product u did a review on, and if it's available, she'll give u the OK and give u the EF intro u have to edit into the 1st part of video to be able to get credit for it. then once video is done right (could take a few times of u re doing it - sound, no background noise, be clear talking etc) then the person who approves it i think his name is Justin, he emails a $25 gift card code to be used on this website. and now the awesome thing about shipping is that if u get stuff over $25, its free standard shipping and u get double points, i hope it stays that way lol =]

sent her a request for the only toy I have on hand that doesn't have a video review yet, though is it okay to do both the video and text review at the same time? I would think so, but some things are 'the small print' kind of deals.

You have to have a text review.

EDIT:

To elaborate, video reviews are only supposed to be a few minutes. You should keep it to the main points of the product. You're basically trying to show what can't be seen in the text.
