I've seen people still write reviews for products that have been discontunied. If a product you received became discontunied before you wrote the review, would you still write one? I'm not really sure myself.
Would you still write a review if the product has been discontunied?

More than likely, in those cases, the item just has not been stocked yet. I've received items to review that are still listed as "discontinued" simply because they haven't been stocked yet. It would be nice if they changed how that is worded, because it can be confusing.

^ This. I can't stress this enough. This question gets asked a lot (or variations thereof) and it's important to know that these items usually aren't really discontinued. It's pretty simple to see if an item is discontinued or not.

Does it have a lot of reviews and comments? If the answer is yes, then it probably really IS discontinued. If the answer is no (even if there are only just a few comments and one or so reviews), then it probably isn't really discontinued. It really would be nice if they changed the wording because newbies are always getting confused and veterans are always having to answer this question.

The way I usually do it is if it's still available for sale in general and not discontinued from the manufacturer, I'll still review it. If it's been discontinued by the manufacturer, I feel a bit silly writing a review for something that nobody else will probably get to use.

They've already answered the question. EF needs to differentiate somehow on new items that could be stocked and items that are going to be manufactured anymore by the company. Maybe currently not stocked and manufacture discountinued?

I would, I just got a push assignment and it is on a new product but it says that it has been discontinued so you can't really go by that.

I came to this post and was like I already voted on this post before. Just to come see it was someone else asking about the same thing. From the last post I got all the information I needed about products being discontinued. So when I got my first push assignment I did not freak out, because i remembered what everyone had said.

It couldn't hurt. Someone might be able to find the toy elsewhere, even if it's discontinued, and want to know about it.

I still would write a review, I have. If eden doesn't sell it, if someone really wanted it they could find it elsewhere.

I have in the past and if it is a really great product I might still write a review in the hopes that it will maybe be picked back up. If it was a mediocre or terrible product I generally don't write a review because the problem has already been taken care of, so to speak.

I would. I second what everyone else said--it doesn't mean EF won't carry the product again, in fact they probably will.

While the purchasing department is still deciding whether to offer a product the product page will often say the product is discontinued. It's just a time saver if the product isn't actually picked up for sale. If you see more than like 3-4 reviews and the product is discontinued then it probably has been...but it could be brought back if the demand is high enough and it hasn't been discontinued by the manufacturer, so I've heard.

I would. For a few reasons. 1. You still get points for it lol. 2. Im sure that if that product comes back to EF folks would want to read about it and 3. You can always see if the manufacturer has it or you can purchase it elsewhere. There was a review for the Contour I and I WANT IT!!! I haven't ever seen it on here since I have been a member, but omg I sooo want this product! I wish they would bring it back BUT its actually cheaper on the manufacturers page. And, if I can read reviews on it, its still benefiting the manufacturer by gaining exposure.

we have to anyway don't we?

Absolutely! I review out of print books on my blog sometimes. There's always somewhere to buy things, and you never know if it's a case of the item being just temporarily out of stock at EF -- or maybe the manufacture will decide to start making the item again. Not to mention the points. And who doesn't want extra point? Review away!

I don't see why not
05/02/2012
I would. You can read all the reviews. It might help someone buy something that is not on this site
12/27/2012
i probably would
01/01/2013
I would.
01/10/2013
I have. Just because it's not on this site doesn't mean it's not anywhere.
01/17/2013
Yes
01/18/2013
I've gotten products to review that are discounted when I look at the product page, so yes.
01/22/2013
Yes, because you could probably buy it elsewhere.
01/22/2013
Yes, most likely.

I'd review them just in case they were out of stock or carried again later.

Your second reason is really good. It seems that products sometimes will be "discontinued", but then come back.
