I was just noticing there has been a format change for the review display on each product, with most helpful positive and negative reviews being spotlighted and a link for other opinions. I think that's a cool idea for showing at a glance the general consensus. However, I noticed there is no longer a distinction on the reviews as to whether they are 'verified' or not. I haven't requested any products for assignment yet, but had thought E.F. occasionally accepted requests for products with only 1 verified review already. With the medley of reviews now grouped as one, is that an attempt to make review process more helpful and limit advanced reviewers to only request products with NO total reviews or one at the very most? I understand if that's what E.F. wants to do, as they are funding the reviews, but was unsure.. Sorry for being so wordy, if this discussion is unclear, please let me know. Basically; can we still request products for free assignments that have one review on them or would E.F. like to keep the free products going only for purposes of acquiring a first review. Blaqksp
What are the effects of the new review format on assignment options?

You can request an item for assignment if there are no more than 2 verified reviews on it. So if it has 1 or 2 reviews, it's okay to request it. You may have to fill in the little box that asks you why you think you can offer a better/different review on the product.
I, personally, find that going to the Product Search page and scrolling over the little "i" can tell me if a product is truly available for review. I will provide you with some pictorial examples momentarily.
05/19/2011
So, first you go to the Product Search and select "For Free Review" and also "Sponsored by Eden Fantasys" (I always apply my material preferences)
Then, when you've found something that you'd like to review, scroll over the little "i" that gives you information:
Then a window should appear on the page giving you information about the product. Manufacturer, size, color, how many reviews are done, if there are video reviews, price, etc....
See how there are only two reviews on the product? That means it COULD be available for review. However, it might be out for review, in which case our wonderful admins will either approve or decline your request. If there are three text reviews already, you won't even be able to offer a reason to request.
I don't think that the new format is changing anything. For more information about the review program, there are some awesome n00b threads, like the Tips about EF I Wish I Knew About Sooner. Not to mention, you can find lots of threads in the Review Program section of the forum. If you have any other questions about the review program, the BESTEST person to ask would be JR (almon @ edenfantasys . com) You can also go to the workshop section of the forum (under Clubs) and see all his workshops about the site. He's AWESOMESAUCE!

I'd also recommend joining the Mentor Program. There are some really incredible, helpful people on the site who could help you jump in headfirst into the review program!

As Eden has grown, this has evolved too.
As of now: Each product has a max of 3 free reviews, generally. Meaning EF will assign or fill assignment requests 3 times per product, generally. We still don't fill assignment requests for lingerie and costumes though.
Why "generally"? Some products have fewer or greater allotments, depending on stock, manufacturer, or the needs of EdenFantasys itself. Consider 3 to be the default setting in most cases.
Verified/Unverified doesn't really matter anymore. It's older wording for an older system we were using.
That being said, I would suggest reviewers use the Product Search too. It saves a lot of time looking for products to review.
If you have any questions, you can send a message on-site or email Gary or me.

Yes, the Product Search tool is useful. But it doesn't always work right. I wish it would be updated so that the "For free assignment" filter would actually filter out anything which isn't available for free assignment. For example, if you do a search with the category set to "Vibrators" and with "For free assignment" selected, you end up with the "Siena Symphony" in the search results. But that vibrator already has 4 reviews, and if you try to request it as a free assignment, you get the "this already has 3 reviews" message. So why is it in the search results for free assignments?

It looks like this is one of those special cases. One of the assignments was a buy out, so there could be one more on it. It couldn't hurt to request!

I have a question....will we get an assignment if we don't request one?? I like the idea of being able to find assignments from the product list, but will they assign me something if I don't request something?
What I mean is, is requesting products the only way to get an assignment?

I've been offered assignments without requesting them before. If you're in the descriptive review program. I just had to turn something down because of body compatibility, but it was months since I had been offered something before that.

There are times when Eden will assign products for review, even while you have an assignment out. We call these "push" assignments. They come up often enough, but aren't always for an ideal product (for receiver) or be something you're familiar with. If you are assigned one and aren't interested in it, you can decline it no harm no foul.

You can still click on each review and scroll down to ind out if they are verified out not.

I get frustrated with the product search cause there's a LOT of things that aren't really available for review that show up. Like the Bcurious for example.
And it brings up damn lingerie and costums when we're not allowed them.
I don't really find the product search that handy at all personally.

not explicitly stated as 'verified' though, i don't think. Fortunately J.R. clarified that advanced reviewers can request any product that has 2 or fewer total reviews, with the exception of toys that already have requests out etc etc. It doesn't matter then, if they are 'verified' or not, and E.F. will give free assignments for products if you will be posting the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd review on the product. Hens, E.F. values reviewers contributions. (Others in this post worked this wayyy better On another note, maybe a differnt symphony than the Siena, there seems to be some product pages that didn't get the upgrade.. such as this one. ?

There's no reason why there can't still be a Verified (when ya click on - read all with this new layout) next to those that are free toy reviews. But perhaps not have it against those that were buyouts.
The way it is, complicates things in that aspect. Otherwise, I like the new layout.
