I'm expecting a package full of toys tomorrow, and am eager to start trying and reviewing them. I was curious whether more people planned ahead for their first review, or if they usually started out with reviewing an item they'd been using for a while.
The first product you wrote a review for was:

- 1
- 2
- 3
- 4
- 5
I think I answered this correctly. I was here when the review process was much different. My first product from eden was my first item I reviewed. I was brought onto the review program before I had ever purchased anything here. I still have the toy too!

I had some other questions, but can't figure out how to get more than one poll in a single post. So the rest of these are free-form answers.
How did you feel about doing your first review (excited, nervous, etc.)? If you knew before using the product that you were going to review it, do you feel that knowledge influenced how you experienced the product?
How much do you usually use a product before writing your review? Once? A specific number of uses? For a specific length of time, no matter how many uses you happen to do in that time?

I was really both ways. I had toys I had been using for a long time and a toy or two that I purchased from Eden.

THe first toy I ever reviewed was the Octo-Pleaser. I didn't plan on reviewing, but when I got the Octo-Pleaser I decide I would review it. It is really cool!

The first thing I reviewed here was the chocolate paint from Shunga. I had had it for a month or two before I found the site and when I decided I wanted to join the review program, I started there.
The first toy I reviewed here I did purchase with the intent of reviewing it, and it was the Diamond Spot vibrator.

I'm not sure I answered this right either. The first review I wrote was a "writing sample", and I think it was a review of something I had, but that was ages ago and I don't remember what I submitted. The first real review that I had published was for something I requested for review and then wrote a review of - the Sherbet.

Mine was a toy that I had already bought and wasn't planning on reviewing. But, once I found this site I knew it was perfect for me because I love talking about my experiences and how much I love/hate a toy and sometimes there's not many people I can talk to about these things!

I am trying to remember how I felt about doing my first review. I think I was pretty neutral feeling because I had just discovered the community and just though, hey I'll give this a go. And I reviewed a product that I really liked first. I think if my first review had been a more negative review it would have been harder for me to do.
I don't think that the knowledge I'm going to review something changes my overall enjoyment of a product..I'm still going to love it, hate it, be so-so about it regardless but it does influence what I look for. I put a bit more thought into it. Like, I wonder how this would be for such and such..and then try it out. So, I maybe try things out a bit differently. But, that's more like extras, my general use of the product is how I would normally use it and what I bought it for.
The amount of time I use a product before reviewing it differs. Some toys I can use a few times and know exactly what I want to write about it. Others I feel I need more time with. Like if I dislike a product. I try to give it a go a few more times before I make a judgement. I've found that some toys I need to experiment with before I can enjoy them. I use toys at least twice before reviewing them, usually more. Just to give myself an overall idea of how it performs.

My first review was of a teeny jelly g-spot&clit vibe. I loved that thing to DEATH. No, seriously. It died.

I actually had my first toy for about 5 years before even discovering this site. It broke because I left the batteries in it and they leaked. (never again!) But with that said I did some site browsing and found EdenFantasys! (when a window closes, a door opens!)
I found a few items I liked and ordered them. after looking though the site some more I decided to become a member. I discovered the reviews and that I could be a part of it. I found my exact first toy and gave a review, Now I'm addicted!! I love writing and with this I hope that it can help improve that. I’m excited to stick with this and write better reviews then compare them to my first ones… just to see how far I’ve come. I'm still just starting out though

I was so distraught I threw it in a sock and tried to forget I had ever loved it. A whole year later, we were cleaning out our toy drawer and the sock resurfaced. I kid you not--a tear came into my eye.

The first thing we reviewed here was the Tantus Deuce, which we bought for ourselves with no intention of reviewing. We had a bad experience with the toy though and wound up so disappointed that we decided to write something to let other people know the possibilities before they plunked down that much cash.

My first review was a bunny I had just bought from a brick and mortar store. Never went back to the store but I still have the bunny!

OMG I was petrified when I wrote my first review...but excited as well. I was breaking out of the "good girl" mold that had all but strangled the life out of me and I think my enthusiasm was more interesting than my review!

Victoria advanced as a reviewer based on that enthusiasm and it's still the best email I've ever gotten! SUCH validation. You'll find that everyone here is gonna want to jump in and help you so let that calm your nerves.
I have to say that knowing I am going to review a product does color my experience with it somewhat at least the first few times I use it. I am thinking things like: Does this look sturdy? Will it last? Is that too intense or too light? How easy will it be to find batteries? Is it discreetly packaged? ect
Personally, I tend to use a product up to three or four times before reviewing it, especially if my first impression isn't favorable.

I got a Hello Kitty vibe as a gift from a friend and found it on here and decided to write a review. I've definitely grown as a reviewer since then, lol.

My sweetheart had bought his first packer: the Mr. Limpy extra small. Shortly after, while shopping for a good dildo/harness, I noticed the review program on Eden. I was like "HELL YEAH!!" So I had my honey give me feedback on the packer, and I strung together my first review.

I just wrote my first review for the Velvet Touch Vibrator. I was excited to write it. I have another review I plan on writing and, then, I'll have an excuse to make more purchases. ;P

I just discovered EF a few weeks ago when I was Googling a certain toy. After looking around a bit, I placed an order. Then I noticed the Review Program and decided to give it a go. I signed up for the Mentor Program and received my first assignment (the Rainbow G) about a week and a half ago and submitted my first review (on the Rainbow G) just a couple of days after receiving it in the mail. I was mainly just excited about submitting it (I don't think I was very nervous)!
I think just knowing that I planned to review the toy colored my experience with it somewhat, though not at all in a negative way. I made a strong effort to take my time with the toy because I wanted to make sure that I noticed as many details about it as possible, as well as noting the sensations it provided. I also wanted to make sure I explored all the various ways the toy could be used, so I played with it several times (about three or four times) before writing the review. I even had my husband try it out to see if could work for men as well.
I think reviewing toys definitely adds to your experience in enjoying your toys! Have fun with it and don't be nervous!

I had ordered an anal toy and knew I could review toys on EF but didn't really think I would go ahead with it.
I really loved my toy and reviewed it then became a reviewer, TADA!
