I understand that this question is constantly asked in terms of rating v. the number of comments on reviews and visa versa. But what really bothers me is when I see multiple 'Likes' on my reviews but then the number of ratings or comments don't match up. It makes me feel like they really didn't read anything at all because if they did they would have some feedback right? How does everyone else feel about this?
Should people be allowed to 'Like' a review when they don't rate or comment on it?

I've never really noticed my Likes, to be honest. I pay attention to my votes and comments. The Likes don't bother me either way. I'll always "Like" a review I've voted and commented on if I, well, like it and when I "Like" a review I haven't voted/commented on, it's usually for a product that I've "Liked" on my Facebook. I want reviews coupled with the product so that anyone who is interested doesn't have to look far for reviews.

If it's for "liking" something on Facebook, I don't think it should matter. "Liking" it for Facebook shares what somebody probably thinks is a good review with their Facebook friends and encourages more people to read it.

You can't force people to do things. The comments and ratings that people take the time to do mean more to me than worrying about the people who forgot, didn't write/rate or didn't do it because it wouldn't increase their points value. The way I see it, this is a public site that millions of people can access every day. This means that there are probably tons of people that read reviews and don't do ANYTHING. Therefore, I'll take what I get and be happy with it!

Whenever I "like" a review I comment on it as well. It may be short like "nice review" but I always make sure I take the time to comment as well.
