Question about requesting an assignment

I've never requested an assignment before. I went through the list where you can find things easily for a review (and "easily" is relative it seems! ha ha!)

I added something to my cart and got this message:

Free assignments are not available for products with 3 or more assigned reviews or pending assignments.

Is this a message that always comes up or does this mean that I cannot request this particular item.

Sorry for the dumb question but this is my first time attempting to request anything.

Hey there, it means that particular item cannot be requested as a free assignment. However, you can do a buy-out assignment and receive a 30% discount on the item.

sometimes too, products are out of stock or have pending reviews.

Occasionally you will get the option to explain why you should get to review an item that has 3 existing reviews. I've only gotten it twice but I think it was for items which hadn't been reviewed in a fairly long time.
