Hello!

Some of you may remember me, some of you may not...

I did quite a few video reviews back in the day...MjThePrincess was my user name.

I just recently re-joined Eden because I was making a bachelorette purchase. Now, my question is...is the new review program worth attempting to climb the ranks for? What's the current point system? How are things going here?

I don't want to get my hopes up just to be let down

I think like anything else in life, what one puts in one gets out. I'm relatively new here so don't know you. I hope you do stay though and give it a shot. If you were an adv reviewer before, it would be better if you used your old status. Remember the "Buy Outs" ? You can pm our 3-4 latest adv reviewers and get their opinions. The last 2 just got promoted. We have been making good use of the buyouts and also received some assignments. I think most active members in good standings have also received free assignment.

Give it a shot, no charge for trying !

What are buy outs? I have been here since 2012 and in the past 2 years have not received a free assignment. I still do post reviews.

If an item is not available for free review, advanced reviewers can instead choose to do a "Buy Out" review. These are reviews you agree to do on an item that you purchase at a 30% discount. These Buy Out assignments are most advantageous on expensive toys that are normally excluded from most discounts or promotions, such as some of the more expensive Fun Factory toys.

If you are interested in doing a Buy Out, you simply select "Buy Out Assignment" in the box that will pop up when you click "Request Assignment" on the item in your assignment cart. It will add the item to your shopping cart with a 30% discount. Another benefit is that you don't have to wait for an administrator to approve or decline the assignment.

A buy out is when as an advanced reviewer, you make a purchase that rings up in your cart with a 30 percent discount. You should be familiar with them (though just not realizing what they were called) as it appears you have done them in the past. Buy outs show a message at the bottom of your reviews saying "This product was provided at a discounted price in exchange for an unbiased review. This review is in compliance with the FTC guidelines."

It got kinda crummy kinda quick. I had done $90 worth of review editing and review writing and suddenly it went from a fair exchange of my work for credit, to a exchange of my work for 15% off (up to that $90). I feel that they are in breach of contract by not fulfilling their obligation and paying me for work performed. I rarely visit the site these days and most of the old, strong names are gone. Maybe the company overextended itself with paying for reviewers and editors, but it should have honored its word.

It's worth it if you love doing it.

Regular/Advanced reviewers still get free assignments, as well as buy outs, and the Description Reviewers get very special treatment

The Point System is very much the same, except for an added limitation - Point Gift Cards may be applied to 15% of your total amount due.
There is, however, a new Social Points Program that allows you to earn regular limitation-free gift cards.
