I've been trying to grab a free assignment for a few weeks now, but every time I find a product that I would actually like to use, it says that it's ineligible.

I have my product search filtering only results that should be available for a free assignment, but none actually are.

Any tips?

Keep trying--and look at some of the older products with only 1 or 2 reviews.

I thought free assignments were done away with in exchange for the new points program, with the exception of DR's.

Nope, they never said anything more on it. But it is hard getting a free assignment these days. You have to do a lot of searching.
