So I got a slot in this rotation's editing program. However every time I look at the task list all I see are the 3 entries that can't be assigned. I read on the guidelines that there's a certain time of day when people post more reviews, but when is that time of day? I've tried looking at 5pm (when most people get off work), at 2am, 2pm, 11am, and still no reviews.
Editing program and reviews?

I think that more reviews tend to get submitted in the evening hours, however part of the issue is that a new rotation just started so editors are eagerly snapping up tasks as they become available. All I can suggest is to keep checking often.

Check often.
When I was an editor, I didn't notice more reviews being posted at any one time of time; it varied.

I'd guess more get submitted in the evening, but they do get snapped up very quickly at the beginning of a rotation.

You should see my test review out there - let me know if you don't.

Reviews usually get snapped up within a few minutes of being submitted no matter what time of day, but usually there were more in the evenings. At the same time, the middle of the night was usually a good time to snag one because not as many editors are online.

Excellent point. Since the rotation is fresh, everyone is eager to get involved. Just be patient.

Just sit and hit refresh for a bit, and test your luck!

I would suggest being vigilant. Keep checking the Task Market often. Eventually, something will come up. I will say though, at the moment, there are not that many reviews coming through in a day's time that need editing. So far today, 16 reviews have been published, and only 9 of those were eligible to be edited (perhaps fewer, if any of those reviewers are currently in the mentor program). There are currently 21 editors, according to Sammi, so you have to factor that in as well.
Keep trying, and don't get discouraged!

I think a lot of people are waiting for the change (and pay bump!) to publish their reviews. I assume once that goes live things will pick up a bit.

Why is it that you can see reviews that can't be assigned? Is it like that with all of them- they are listed until published by an editor, but unavailable?

The only thing I can think of is that the person (people) who picked up those reviews never actually went through with editing and simply locked them and left.

Actually, there is something "broken" in the Task Market right now. If an editor tries to send a review to the administrator, because of plagiarism or whatnot, it may wind up getting stuck in the Task Market instead. This is why Sammi has said that if you have a problem with a review, hold onto it, but email her with this information: task details number, name of the review and the reviewer, and what is wrong with the review. Don't send it to the administrator!
