"Pros" and "Cons" section and editing

Contributor: indiglo indiglo
Over my years here at Eden, I have noticed that on some reviews, the "Cons" seem to be mixed in with the "Pros" in that section of the review. I always thought this was due to sloppy editing on either the author's part or the editor's part.

However, now I am an editor, and it just happened to a review I edited! The cons are over in the "Cons" area in the review draft (I even went back in, and double checked) but when reading the review they show up underneath the "Pros".

Can this be fixed?

What I do when I see this is switch them, but for sure leave a comment for the reviewer. Tell them that the 'pros' and 'cons' seemed switched, and that you changed them out, but that if they meant them the other way they can't totally switch them back and that you're sorry.

Sorry, I didn't explain that well. They are in the correct places in the draft. Pros are where pros go, and Cons are where cons go. It's all correct in the draft.

It's just after I published it, they ALL ended up in the Pros section. Both Pros and Cons show up in the Pros section - instead of staying in the correct places - and they are in the correct places on the draft. And when I go back in and look on the draft - they are STILL in the correct places. It's just the published version that looks wrong.

Maybe I'll just email Sammi about it. Thanks anyway!!

I've never seen that happen before, but definitely email Sammi. There might be a bug in the system.

Is it happening when you view it on your phone? I had it happen for a DR, and it was only visible that way on my iphone, but showed correctly on my home PC.

I just sent Sammi an email - how strange! It's funny because I've seen quite a few reviews where both the Pros & Cons are posted in the Pros section, and now I'm wondering if it is because of this glitch. It is really weird.

I only have a dumb phone - no iPhones here, I only use my laptop. That was a fine brainstorm though!

...and I always thought they were careless mistakes the reviewers didn't bother to fix! Glad you brought it up, and hopefully Sammi can have the techies fix it!

Same here! I think I may have even given a lower vote (like "Good", instead of "Excellent") to an editor a time or 2 for this, which I assumed was a "sloppy mistake". Oops!

I didn't give them a lower vote, but I've PM'd a few editors or reviewers (the ones I'm familiar with) in the past, alerting them of the mix-up.

Also, if anyone sees any published reviews that look like this, please message me or email me with the link, so I can check them out as well.

Well, it looks like I figured out the weirdness. Here I thought I had uncovered some really helpful glitch that would improve the Eden Experience.

Basically, I have my web browser zoomed in on all the pages I visit to about 120% so I can read the text without straining my eyes. On Eden, that throws the formatting off and makes everything all wonkajeeby. It looks like THAT is what was making it look like the Cons were under the Pros on the review that I edited. Once I went back out to 100%, it looked fine.

I'm just not used to that throwing anything off, and I forget that I have it zoomed... so there you go. No drama, no exciting discoveries. Just me... zooming out on my web browser so that I can see Eden the way it was meant to be seen.
