#AskEden - Ranking drop = Pricing drop for free assignments?

Contributor: Ms. N Ms. N
Okay, so when your ranking increases, you may request higher priced items as free assignments (when available).

Guidelines:
Rank: 0 - 4.4 = toys up to $30.
Rank: 4.5 - 5.4 = toys up to $40.
Rank: 5.5 - 6.4 = toys up to $50.
Rank: 6.5 - 10 = toys up to $75.

I was just wondering...if someone has been away from the site for a while, and their ranking drops from a higher level to a lower one, when they return, are they back at the lower level as far as making assignment requests goes?

Example: JoeReviewer has a rank of 5.7, which allows him to request items up to $50. He takes a break from the site for 2 years, in which time his ranking drops from 5.7 to 4.4. If he then returns to reviewing, is he now limited to requesting toys priced up to $30, or having once gained a rank above 5.5, is he able to request toys up to $50 forevermore?

Just curious...

I would think that he would be put back at that lower rank. At least, that's how I think that it should work. Rankings are based a lot on how active you are on the site... If JoeReviewer has been away for two years, he hasn't been being active on the site. Why should he be able to come back and request higher priced items right off the bat?

True. The ranking directly determines your pricing. Activity is only based off of the last year. Joe reviewer might be down to a 2 or 3 after all that time. This is a site that is dictated by the amount of action you put into it. Silly joereviewer should be upkeeping his profile lol

I would assume it goes off of current rank not highest ever achieved. So if he was once a 5.7, left and is now a 4.4 he could only request assignments up to $30. I'm sure if this is off base someone from admin will chime in and correct us.

If you want to request something out of your price range you can email Jr. If he remembers you; then he might allow you to request that item. However; he might not want to do that every month.

I assume it goes off of the current rank.

I assume it goes off the current rank. If someone has had their rank drop due to inactivity, it is fair that they should go back to the lower price item and work their way back up. While they were taking time off the other members were busy keeping up their profiles and contributing to the site.

Isn't the whole point of the ranking/price system to reward those who are active on the site?

If you stayed a 5.7 forever, you would never have to go on EF again except for requesting and submitting your free review assignment.

Like others have said I think that it would have to go with current ranking in order to be fair to all other contributors.

As many others have stated previously I would believe it would be off of the current ranking.
