Participation is key. Rate reviews, comment on the forums, start unique and original threads, and follow people...all of these things help improve your rank. Graduating from the mentor program will substantially increase your rank and from there it's really a matter of participation. I hope this helps.

The thing that seems to make the biggest difference is writing reviews and the rating your reviews get (somewhat useful,. useful, extremely useful. etc). I know it's suppose to be a combined effort of everything you do around the site, but i think the reviews are probably the biggest contributor to rank changes.

Thanks! I've written two reviews, a third is being edited and I'm waiting for product to arrive for a fourth review! Any ideas how to get more people to rate my reviews?

Well new reviews always show on the main Review site. But I'm in the same boat, I've written 4 reviews, and was at a steady 5.0 for a few days, then one person rated my most recent review "Somewhat useful" and I dropped to 4.9. Not that it's a big difference, but I was disappointed. And I messaged the person politely asking them for constructive criticism and if they felt I left something out, and they didn't respond. I know people aren't obligated to explain why they rated something, it just sucks to get a less than average reason and not even know what it is you need to improve on.

I'll take a stab and guess that it's because there isn't an ingredients list in the review. Some of us are hard-wired through our mentors to always include ingredient lists even if it's just "water".

I found that I go up a point for every 2-3 reviews I write! Staying active every day just keeps me from dropping any further!
Your rank is also in comparison to everyone else's rank! Say I write 3 reviews a week and I'm a 5.1, but all of a sudden a ton of people that are 5.0's start writing 10 and get bumped up to a 5.1, I might get downgraded to a 5 because of their upgrades! Hope I helped!

Losing rank is harder than gaining rank. There's a secret points system for ranking, I'm thinking. I've guessed that this is how you increase your rank.

It also does depend on what others around your rank are doing. If you're writing more reviews, have more votes, and post more, your rank will go up faster. Just make sure you're doing everything on the rank breakdown and you should have no problem.
