When I look at the "activity" factor of rankings, I see reviews, follow up reviews, reading and ranking others reviews, and even making forum posts. However, I don't see anything about Sexis articles. Does writing Sexis articles and commenting on ones we've read really not contribute to our rank?

I've been wondering the same thing since I now find myself spending the majority of my eden time on Sexis!
