I am very excited to have been accepted, and I really look forward to doing some proofreading. Thanks, Sammi, for this opportunity.
#EdenTasks - Upcoming Rotation Jan 2012

Oh! I thought I was just disliked all of a sudden! I was an editor before the rotations began, and was just denied for this rotation. I always received high votes on my job editing, so I was confused by the rejection. Good to know that all the editors in this rotation are new.

Hi everyone,
The EdenTasks rotation will be occurring after the start of the New Year. If you’re currently an editor, you’ll be receiving an email letting you know that your rotation is ending and then you’ll receive a decline email once you are rotated out. If you’ve submitted an application and are declined, you can reapply after the rotation has been completed. Once the rotation occurs, new editors will receive notification that they’ve been activated.
If you have any questions, please feel free to post on the thread, or contact me at sammi @ edenfantasys . com .

I got accepted, but haven't seen anything in the task market for two days besides the test.
01/05/2012
Dang, I got declined. Maybe next time.
01/05/2012
I also got accepted Thanks Sammi!

Congrats and good luck to the new editors. It's rewarding work. I think it's fair to rotate, as even with the amount of editors per rotation actually getting reviews to edit can be very competitive. I advise to check late at night or very early in the morning, Eastern time, or even at dinner time. Late Saturday night (if you're not doing anything else, I was usually busy, but once found a wealth of reviews on a Saturday night) and Sunday mornings, early are good times it seems.

they go very fast, especially the tests, for some reason . Just keep refreshing and i recommend bookmarking the task market page. Also, I found more reviews appear at night and there are probably more during the weekend.

As you can tell, yes I made the reviews and thank you everyone for this honor (and for disregarding the typos in my forum posts. I read and edit all the reviews three times at least before approving. If they deserve approval).

I usually found that from 7pm to 8pm Eastern was when I caught most of my reviews, and if I happened to not get any during a dinnertime, there were often a few just before and just after 11pm Eastern.

Nope, that's it. Three of each type per day. (Meaning three full reviews, either 250 or 400 points, and three follow-up reviews, 50 points).

You can edit 3 "new" reviews and 3 "follow ups" in one day, and it didn't change for double points week.

Thanks for the hints on when to check, but those are the times that I'm not usually on. I have the pc all day from 8am-4pm CST, but once the hubby comes on, I'm not on anymore. On the weekends its just a couple hours in teh morning until he wakes up. Gotta spend time with family and all. Maybe I'll catch some during my time. If not, it's an honor to be selected.

if I were to voice a current editor's opinion, I believe there should be less editors each round. The task market almost never has tasks in it, I've nearly given up even looking for them. One can sit at it all day and hit refresh before finding available reviews to edit.

I've also wondered how much ratings of "the editor's job" count. I recently had one person my edit of a review (and that review required a LOT of editing) as "poor". I suspect that this person was either rating the reviewer (and not me) or that person thought that I had was a mentor (which I'm not) and, therefore, should have done something about the content. Needless to say, they're ain't know misteaks or speling eras whened I done finished the said reveiw and eye don't no why i be rated badly.
All kidding aside, after I was done editing there were no errors in the review (and I've quadruple checked to make sure).

The ratings on the review pages are looked at, but the actual review of the editing we do is what carries the weight. From the votes, it's sometimes hard to tell what is being looked at in the review for the ratings and this goes both ways - reviews that are badly edited get votes of Excellent sometimes, while reviews that are edited well get votes of Poor (similar to some voting on reviews themselves). We do note if we find mistakes or reviews are pointed out to us, and as mentioned in the welcoming email that went out this time, editors can be removed early if they are making a lot of mistakes with editing.
If you have a question on a review you edited that has poor ratings, always feel free to message me or email me the link, and I'll be happy to take a look at it

A question, since this seems to be where all the cool kids are hanging out...
I had to send a review back to the reviewer for the first time tonight. It was just two sentences long (a follow-up) but the first sentence was so jumbled that I couldn't figure out what they were trying to say well enough to edit it. I have a feeling they started typing one sentence, decided to type something else, and somehow neither idea ever got completed.
Anyway, I returned it to them several hours ago, but can't figure out how to tell when they have fixed it. If I go to My Tasks and click on that review, it still looks the same, so I'm assuming they haven't done anything yet. Is there any other way to know when it is ready to be looked at again?

Thanks for the info, Sammi. I just sent you the link . I'm enjoying this experience and believe that the editing process is very helpful. I've already edited several very good reviews, as well as a few that were nearly incomprehensible. I read each one as if they were my own (which means I read them several times). For reviews that are particularly challenging, I read them several times again after they've been posted.

I've had a couple situations similar to what you've described. I've received a message (e-mail) when the review has been edited. I had one case where I couldn't publish it after it had been corrected. I ended up unlocking the review and immediately locked it again - that allowed me to post it. Fortunately, no one else grabbed it during that process

You should be able to tell by the review status - if it says "Revision Required", they haven't resubmitted it yet, but if it says "Submitted", then they made whatever changes and submitted it again. It works that way for the regular reviews, and I think it works the same way for the followups.
