I think a fair solution would be to assign one DR assignment, and one push assignment for each new item. That way, no one is requesting (it's a fun surprise if you receive one!), but there are two reviews on every product. This would make it so that there are two opinions available before anyone does a buyout on it. I think that would be a great solution. Two reviews, possibly differing opinions, and you don't have to worry about the hassles associated with trying to request anything.

Since nothing is set in stone at the moment, however, I can't really say what the final result will be for videos. You guys will find out as we do, though!

I'd just like to jump in and say this is a fantastic idea! I usually wait until there are a few reviews before I buy a product I'm iffy about and sometimes the DR isn't enough.

Oh no! But... But... I shouldn't have waited so long to request my last one! I understand that they may not pay off sometimes, though, and it was great while it lasted.

I agree that a DR and a push may work better than 2 DR assignments like I suggested. That way you could have a very clinical look at the toy and a more subjective look at the toy.

Also a great idea! And it would be a fun surprise and there would be no constant reviewer requests to reject. Admins could simply assign the new items to two people (one DR, one non) and let those reviews help people decide to try the product or not.

I'm in the exact same boat as you. I found this place during the middle of February, and now, people have to pull me off the computer to get me away from Eden. I've only written 2 reviews, but I'm working on a whole bunch more for products I have bought. The time-in-community thing makes sense to me, and I would enjoy the challenge of working my way up, but I'm weird and I know that's not something everyone will be happy with.

My only hesitation is with time in the community having weight in rank. I understand you have to work your way up there. For people like myself, I just found Eden within the last month or so but I really love it here. I'm not going anywhere. I don't want to be punished for only being here a month whereas others have been here for years. less

As for the banishment of free assignments, I'm not an advanced review (YET!) so yeah, umm. Kay! But really, from what I've ready of the troubles of trying to find available products, I'd say good riddance! Plus the deeper discount buyout idea would make it where the people who want to try out butt plugs get butt plugs, and those of us who enjoy, say, blindfolds get to review blindfolds. I feel like this will actually provide more quality reviews to be honest. Or maybe that's just me. But anyway, good idea is good
03/27/2013
i think it's a good idea. i put a lot of work into my reviews and more points seems fair. more points plus bigger discount will make it easier for me to get items to review.

This sounds like a step in the right direction too, tbh. I imagine the Video Review Program is growing by leaps and bounds as well, and tbh I see a lot of videos that don't really meet the criteria that is asked for. Shrinking the program would fix that.

I totally love this idea so much!
I do have one concern though. Would the buyout assignments be limited to 1 a month like our free assignment now? I really love being able to get more than one buyout a month now and would love it to stay that way. Personally I know I'd be spending a lot less money here if I could only do one a month.
Also, would we still be able to do them on any product? Like right now I have a buyout for the MiMi which has 73 reviews. Would we only be able to do them on products with a small amount of reviews? I feel that would also greatly limit the products available to review.

Aww that would bite. It took me a long time do one but when I finally did I enjoy them. I have not done them on every product I have either only some. Maybe limit how many we can do again and lower the points a little bit. I really don't see anything wrong with this area. I think the videos are helpful.

There was an assigned video program where you received a free product in exchange for a text and video review. On top of the free item, you also received 2500 points. I believe Carrie Ann was saying that they're doing away with the assigned video program, and are just sticking with the regular video reviews done on items you receive on your own or as buyout assignments, etc.

That's what it sounded like to me, too. While I did enjoy the extra free product a month, doing away with it at the same time as the monthly free product makes sense since they were pretty similar as far as price and the program goes.

Wow! I think I will no longer take part in the program then, Like I stated above, being the odd size I am, I have a very hard time buying lingerie, and unless I get a good discount on lingerie, I wont buy it. I am very disappointed right now!

And I understand how bad of a bad sport I sound, but I have bought lingerie in the past and had to throw it out because it was either such bad quality that I couldnt even pass it off on anyone or the size was so untrue, I am so disappointed right now! First EF does away with the blogger program(Which I LOVED being a part of) and now they are taking away the Free assignments, I am so glad I scored the last piece of lingerie! I really had a blast taking part in it, I will say I might still participate, but it wont be monthly like I have been, I simply dont have the extra funds to do so

I really do miss the old point system. But, it's really nice to have an incentive to buy and review with a "drastic increase" in review points as well as buyout percentages. I understand the predicament and won't hold anything against Eden Fantasys. Thank you for the update!

Alright, please read carefully. We are NOT going to be eliminating the Review Program. I repeat, we are NOT going to be eliminating the Review Program. (For those of you who get panicky) However at this point the program does need a major overhaul. The Review Program, as it is at this moment, how it has been, is no longer sustainable. What that means is that so many things have changed since the design of this program, that the current model has run its course.Due to the massive growth of the community and the Review Program, most of the products that are eligible for reviews have reach their maximum number to assign. A little over two years ago we changed this number from (2) to (3) along with expanding our catalog and instituting our Sponsored Review Program. Now that we are beginning to change our direction to specialize in more proven products, while expanding into other areas, the amount of product available for the Review Program has reached its limit. A simple solution would be to raise the limit of product that can be requested, but that is only a band-aid remedy. In a short period of time we will only find ourselves in the same situation we are in now; where it is becoming increasingly difficult to find available items.So... What we have been discussing is refocusing the Review Program by drastically increasing the amount of points that you will receive for each published review that is submitted, along with increasing the discount percentages on Buyout assignments. Buyouts would then replace our current model of the 'free assignment'.Yes I know this sounds terrible at first. But please take a minute to consider the current state of the program, then take a minute to consider how these new ideas can actually offer you more freedom to review anything that you want. You will no longer be limited by availability, or the price range of your rank. It is a little give and take, but it seems like a pretty logical and fair trade off to me...What do you think?(Thank you all in advance for your feedback!)
