What is happening? Requests being cancelled

the last 8 or 9 students to request being a mentor have been cancelled.

Either it says cancelled by system, and it's because I didn't respond quick enough I guess (for some reason I don't get the notifications on that, and people can't read that they should also message me) OR it's cancelled by the student and the request came through within the last few hours!

Can anybody explain what might be going on?
Are students just applying to like 5 people for mentors and whomever accepts first gets them? It's ridiculous.

I had one do that, as well. I think that it's just students going through and applying to a handful of mentors who seem satisfactory and going with whoever accepts first. The last 8 or 9, though, that's a lot!

Same problem here! I've had it on the last six or so.

It seems that many students apply with multiple mentors and just go with whoever accepts first. My new policy is not to accept any request for a few hours to see if it auto cancels. If it does, I know they weren't interested in me as much as they were someone. Or maybe they're point farming. Who knows? It's really a pain to deal with. I don't understand the point of requesting multiple people.

I agree!! This happens to me every time I am open for a new student. It is driving me crazy!! I am glad I am not the only one to wait!!

Is it possible that it could also be something else. I applied a few weeks ago to a possible mentor, messaged them, never heard back and the next day is says it was cancelled by system. I should also mention that the mentor was available the whole time.

The system does auto-cancel requests if someone requests more than one mentor at a time.

With wrmbreze though, it's possible that the person just got pulled away by Real Life and wasn't able to change their status. It happens.

Just stay relaxed and groovy and things will work out.
