I recently applied for mentoring and the day after I got the message "cancelled by system." Does that mean the mentor declined me?

No. If more than one person applies on the same day, we can only accept one. If the mentor accepted another student, the system will cancel out your request. You can PM them and ask when their next availability will be if you really want to work with that mentor.

The best way to ensure you get in class with a mentor is to PM them before you send them a request. That way they except your request.
