I messaged my mentor with a few toys I would be interested in reviewing that had 2 or less reviews. On the 15th she messaged me back saying she'd sent along my list. However, I have still get assigned anything. I've been checking the actual assignment page so it's not like I just didn't get an email. I'm not sure what to do now.

I emailed my list to my mentor like 3 times and each time everything on it was already taken. I ended up waiting for my monthly assignment. While not my mentor's fault was extrememly frustrating. It's so easy to tell people to get a mentor but if they can't get you a product to review, the system is pretty pointless.

While I can understand why you say that the system is pointless if a mentor can't get you an assignment, it's not really the mentors job to get you an assignment. Mentors have the option to offer assignments, but they cannot guarantee that you'll get approved for one. Many mentors won't even offer push assignments.

Personally, I very rarely offer my students assignments. My job, as a mentor, is to help them improve their reviews, not to get them free products. I've completed the mentor program three times as a student, and I've never taken advantage of the push assignment, even when two of my past mentors offered me push assignments.
If my students don't have any items that they could review, I will tell them that I could try to get them an assignment, but I remind them that that could take a long time, and that there's no guarantee that I'll be successful.

I get that but when you're told to submit a list so you can have something to review it is frustrating. Sometimes you have things to review and sometimes you don't, that's just how it is. But to submit and submit with the same answer all the time gets to be old. I probably won't get a mentor again and when I get people telling me to get one because they didn't like something about my review, I'll tell them why I won't get another one.
My mentor was very good and patient, so nothing at all against her. I just think the process needs to be tweeked.
But this is just my opinion.

This. I've only had one (maybe two) students ever get a push assignment through my class. I prefer to not do push assignments at all.

Any of my assignments were ones I specifically requested through the admin themselves, not my mentor. The first mentor I has offered me a free gift, but I told her I had a couple items already to review. Pretty much as said, a mentor is to help with your reviews, not help you get free items. So really, if you don't free items through your mentor, that does not mean they are pointless.

Having a mentor or not is not going to change your outcome on free assignments. I got denied 5 times this month before I got approved for my free assignment. Just because there isn't showing 3 reviews does not mean the remaining available are not already assigned. That's nothing you nor your mentor can control and change. They can however help you with writing your reviews when you DO write one. Not getting a free assignment has absolutely nothing to do with if your review is poorly written or not. With the eden points system, you can easy save and get items for free that way to review as well and they do not need to have less than 3 reviews. Items do not need to be assigned in order to review, you just need to have them in your hands. That can be by buying or getting as an assignment.

I also prefer not to do push assignments. I've had quite a few students join my class, keep in regular contact with me about what the mentor program entails, and then ask if I could please get them an assignment. I've told each of these students that I could, but that it can be difficult to get a push assignment, and that I would prefer not to do push assignments. As soon as I said I preferred not to give them an assignment, they vanished. I don't think it's coincidence.

What I tend to tell students now is that I will do push assignments, but only if they complete a useful review with me first. The ones that are serious about improving their reviews tend to have no problem with this, but the ones that just want free items seem to get irritated, and they immediately stop responding to my messages.
