Questions about conducting classes?

Contributor: lexical lexical
Hi! I just recently became a mentor and today I got my first student! I'm very excited to begin mentoring msblackpetite and welcome her warmly to the community

Since this is the first class I'm teaching, I have a few questions.

-Is it absolutely necessary to create a push assignment for the student? Is the student able to begin a review (for an item they already own, perhaps) that will show up in the class now that they are enrolled or does the process have to begin with a push assignment?
-When I send a request to the administrator for a student assignment, does it also need to have less than three existing reviews, on top of being <$30?
-Is there a time limit on completing the class?
-What are some acceptable reasons for canceling a class with a particular student?

I read through the Mentor Program page, but those were a few things that still came to mind unanswered. I feel like I should go through the mentor program myself, just to see how other people handle their classes! Maybe I will do that...Hmmm.

Thank you very much!

No, you don't have to create a push assignment. It's completely optional, and if your student has toys themselves, I'm sure EF appreciates *not* doing it. If you want to send a request for a student assignment, it's these guidelines. (I always go for less than two reviews already on the product)

There is no time limit on completing a class.

The most obvious reason to cancel a class is if the student stops responding. Honestly, though, it's your class and you can cancel it for whatever reason you want to.

Thanks, Mistress Kay! Very helpful

So, if my student has an item in her assignment cart which she already owns and is waiting to review...Once she submits that review, it will automatically appear within the class?

She has to submit it to you, not to the general site.

She has to put "Submit to Mentor" instead of "Submit to Admin" but yes, if it is submitted to you, it will appear in the class.
