Is the Mentor Program only for people who aren't already Advanced Reviewers?

Anyone can participate in the Mentor program, including Advanced Reviewers. The only difference is that the mentor does not get compensated with a GC for working with you.

That's too bad, I'd hate to take up someone's time that wouldn't get anything in return.

I love mentoring advanced reviewers - my first student is an advanced reviewer and I'm just helping her fine-tune some of what she does.
I think its easier to mentor an advanced reviewer and definitely a lot of fun!

I like to think that when an Adv. Reviewer mentors another Adv. Reviewer, it's more like a tag-team than a mentor/student thing.

That is a perfect way to describe it.

nope! for everyone and anyone! even a mentor can be mentored, if they so rarely choose.

you know, the mentor always gets 500 pts for graduating you, and a little number added to their profile. but the real reward is having a student write badass reviews.. and seeing them later in the rumble, and having them nominate you for contributor of the month... all lovely things i've encountered as a mentor.
the best part is making new friends.
only a very few mentors request beginner reviewers only.
i'll be available to mentor on the 1st of the year! holler at me if you'd like a second eye.

I just want to add that I find having an advanced reviewer as a student is making me a better reviewer myself. Also, my student(s) are reviewing products in areas I've never used and that is stretching me because I feel compelled to go read other reviews for those types of products (for instance - nipple clamps) and see what others expect in those reviews.
I was really hesitant to become a mentor because my review style is so different and I like to tell stories with my reviews or do extra stuff. But I'm enjoying working with students because my goal is to help them find their voice and style vs. trying to imitate mine.
My first request of every student (the advanced ones) is to tell me the review that they liked writing the best so I can read it - and the reviews on the site that they like the most - so maybe we can discover together what it is that they like about their favorite reviews.
After that - my goal is to help them find what works best for them so they don't sit down to the computer and go "I wish I didn't have to get this review written".

Just remember, they wouldn't be in the program if it weren't rewarding for them.
