I am brand new to all of this and I am hoping to find a mentor to teach me the ropes. I have sent out requests to a couple of mentors through the program but have gotten declined. Does anyone have any tips for requesting a mentor as a brand new student?

Pick one that looks like you'd be compatible, between writing styles and personality. Looking at your profile it looks like Waterfall had tried to take you on as a mentor, but couldn't message you?

well, I'm looking for new students myself and I wouldn't mind taking you as a student as long as you're willing to learn and complete your assignments in a timely manner. As long as you show you're interested, lots of mentors will be willing to take you on as a student

I wonder why she could not message me. As far as I know my profile is on the default settings so it should not block anyone. Like I said, I only saw the declines in my inbox. Ms. Spice, thank you for the offer, I will contact you privately.

I had also tried to message you and it told me that your messaging service wasn't activated. I think she mentioned that on your wall. No biggie though, but you'll need to do that to message privately

Totally cool, it took me a while to figure it out too. The great thing about the mentor program is now your mentor can help you figure out anything else you may have questions about!
