Since I only have 500 words in my blurb for the mentor program - I'm gonna put a bit more here.
I just signed up to be a mentor and am very excited. I'll be glad to work with both new reviewers and advanced reviewers but I'd like to share a bit of what my hope is in helping so you know if I'm a good fit for you or not.
I'm hoping to help fellow reviewers find their "voice" and find a way to make reviewing fun. One of my first assignments for reviewers is going to be before we choose what you review - that you go through your reviews and figure out which one or two were the most fun for you to write. Please notice - these may not be the ones you're the proudest of...and that's ok. But for some reason - either you connected with the product or something and the review was FUN. Next - look at reviews that you've enjoyed reading and pick out 3-4 (hopefully from different reviewers) and let's figure out why you like them.
Once we've done that - we'll work on picking something (probably from your stash if you're like most of us) that you can "connect" with and enjoy reviewing.
But it will help if we know that maybe you prefer reviews with pictures - or you prefer reviews that tell a story or you prefer reviews that give comparisons to other items.
In other words - what makes a review shine - to you?
Also - since I am reviewing for the Descriptive Review program - I'll be glad to help folks who are new to that (although I'm still somewhat new at it) - because it takes a different "tone" and type of writing. If you get approved to do descriptive reviews and want some help - let me help you!
Anyway - that is what I wanted to share with everyone. If you're looking for a mentor and feel like I would be a good fit, feel free to contact me.
Even if you're not looking for a mentor but just need someone to bounce a few ideas off of - I'm here for that too.
I try to respond to people within 24 hours - 48 hours at most and if I think there will be a delay longer than that - I'll drop you a note and let you know.
