What to do when you feel like someone is screwing the system.

Contributor: cherryredhead88 cherryredhead88
I feel like someone is writing reviews under multiple accounts. Supposedly it is a girl and her boyfriend who have written reviews on very similar products... the "boyfriend"'s reviews are pretty much straight from the manufacterer description (if you ask me) and her reviews are oh this is how it worked for me...

Obviously is the same person going for double points. One wrote 10 reviews in one day and the other only comments and votes on "his girlfriend"'s walls and reviews.

Hm. I emailed kristi but I am really pissed right now... I have noticed a few different people have edited their reviews.. did you get any red flags?

If you already emailed kristi then you did what you should. Honestly this thread is unneeded and sounds mean. IMHO

I pretty much want to know if anyone else has noticed the activity that I have around the site, I am not good with handling this type of situation where I feel that Eden is being taken advantage of. I always act too quickly and then after I think about it it's too late to redo/edit a post

I don't think it sounds mean, it's just a voiced opinion.

And it irritates me, to no other

This one I have not seen but I have noticed others in the past and I sent an email off. It irritates me also.

I think the mean part comes from the fact that the individuals could just be a couple who write reviews. Without knowing the facts it's just calling someone out and potentially embarassing them or making them feel bad when there's no reason for it. Alerting Kristi is the thing to do, since that's done there's no need for a public post about it..and to do one is in itself mean I think. There has also been other similar threads made and the response from staff has always been to alert them and not make posts regarding it.

When you notice something like this, you should e-mail the administration. Any administrative's e-mail would work (since they know where to forward it), but I usually stick with e-mailing Gary or JR.

almon@edenfantasys.com

Forum posts aren't recommended because you could be wrong, and it could be people who just don't know how the system works, and then we've been insulting. If you find something like this, just e-mail an administrator instead. Since this is the weekend, they won't get to it until Monday. If it's a copied review, you can include a link to the original. If it's just a hunch, just let the admins know and they'll look into it.

I've already e-mailed about this particular instance.

Also, it's best to avoid posting rude/mean comments on a review - even if you know it's stolen. It could end up looking bad back on you, so just settle for your revenge of just e-mailing the admin. Not as fulfilling but much more effective.

I don't read all the reviews but if something is strange, I do email EF. I try not to make negative or sarcastic comments on reviews as some will retaliate vs me.

Very well said.

Forum posts tend to look like drama - spreading it, stirring it up. We don't want the forums to be full of posts complaining about the very few problem contribs we may or may not have, full of speculation and gossip.

Just let an admin know. It WILL get looked into, it just takes a few days most times, especially on the weekend.

Thank you for this post, I really appreciate it.

I don't ever want to come across as insulting, but I didn't mention who it was per say in the post, to try and keep it somewhat anonymous. (looking back it probably is pretty obvious though)

My intent in starting this thread wasn't malicious, I was pretty much venting and seeing if anyone else noticed the same things as me. But I guess it did come across as rude. I apologize to you guys, no more "drama" posts from me

Ah, you are a wiser woman than I. I let my inner bitch out. I know it looks bad, and it's a dumb idea but I have a short temper that gets me in trouble. :/
