Fairly often I find that I have a question about a product that isn't answered in the published literature, so I'll write the companies to ask and point out that I'm doing a review for Edenfantasys. Naturally the "usual suspects" (Tantus, Vixen, Fun Factory, and the like) are very good about replying, but lately I've been coming up against more and more companies that won't reply. What does everyone else do about this?
Toy companies that won't write back AARGH!

I've never taken the time to write a company. But it does seam very weird they wouldn't get back to you. You'd think they would want to help someone out thats promoting their product.

When that happens to me, my respect for that company decreases a little. Where I work, we are required to reply to all inquiries within two days.

Was it Evolved that didn't answer you? They didn't reply to me.

I haven't tried an Evolved product yet. Empowered didn't write back or post directly on the thread when I sent them a question about the impact of aspartame in one of their products. I'm considering rewriting that one, because I sort of counted on hearing that they'd checked the formula and it was safe, but now I'm not sure.
I've also had companies not really answer the question and then not respond to followups, and the classic "we'll get back to you on that" (when? 2080?)

If it were me, I wouldn't buy the toy out of spite and then I would inform them of it. But that's just me and I'm evil. I'd be curious as to what you decide to do, though.

I've run into the same issue recently ScottA. I figured it was more important to get the review out than to wait for a response, and sometimes the package literature says more than I could find at the website, but I would still appreciate and answer even if it is just a re-iteration of what is on the package.
It is pretty annoying and I can't think of anything to do short of spamming their inbox with repeat requests, but if they don't really look at their inbox it probably won't have much impact.

I'm currently dealing with this same issue. I'll usually give them a week or two on my initial email but then I will send new emails and look for a phone number. I'll call if I can but it's hard to find anyone with any answers that way too. But, basically, I'll just continue sending emails and calling until I either get an answer or feel that I have fought a good fight to no avail. At that point, I'll post on my review that I've been unsuccessful in attaining an answer. As the saying goes, "The squeeky wheel gets the grease!" It seems to have worked so far too. I've only got one answer than I'm still trying to get! Hopefully I'll get an answer soon.....

I had a question about a product and I first contacted EF through their "Expert Help" but I never got a response. I've been disappinted in EF since then. I finally contacted California Exotics and although it took a few days, they did get back to me, only to say that they can't tell anyone how to use a product and that was all she would say. I KNEW how the product was supposed to be used, for crying out loud, but my question was about the dimensions and the material. Still, that was all I could get out of them.

It has happenned to me as well with Liberator. I was really surprised they didnt respond. I waited a week and a half about and I didnt bother re writing or calling. I don't know how I feel about it though, I am not angry and it doesn't dim my view about them. I am sort of indifferent. As Spicing it up said they should respond seeing as we sort of test their material and if they don't they aren't helping themselves at all so it's really their loss not mine.

Um.. I think I sent off an e-mail to Doc Johnson once when I was reviewing pleasure tops. I sent them my review, actually. No response. No surprise, really.

I've had this problem with Nexus. I wrote them using their contact form but they never got back to me. I even religiously checked my spam box for two weeks straight. Nary a word. I was surprised, since Nexus seems like one of those fancy, higher-end companies.
EF customer service response time isn't too bad, in my experience. I just sometimes wonder about the validity of the information. I once wrote to ask about corset sizes and the customer service rep told me that typically with corsets you order a size up. This confused me since I've read on other resources that you order a size down. Either way, EF didn't have the size I needed, so I let it go. No biggie.

Are there any corsets here that are sized in inches? all the ones I've seen fall in the S/M/L scale because they're not real corsets (which you do order smaller than your size) so that makes perfect sense to me.

You can always try emailing us with product queries, and we will give you whatever info we have. I can understand how frustrating it is to email manufacturers with questions and we'll try to help whenever we can.

It's still S/M/L, but it's actually metal double boned, so if you go to the sizing chart, you can at least figure out if they've got a size that's a reasonable amount below yours. It's a cinch, not a full corset, but from what I've seen it's the closest carried here.

Oddly, one company that I recently had a bitch of a time getting hold of was Lelo. I was doing a review on the Bo and wanted to inquire if Bo's material would be compatible with silicone, so that a harnessed silicone cock could use the Bo if the couple so desired.
I first used my contact from when I did reviews directly for Lelo.
I think sent them a message through Twitter.
I asked in Twitter, someone gave me the address of their contact. STILL no response. Finally someone else gave me the email address for the guy on Twitter going as MR_LELO and he helped me. I thought that was a wee bit ridiculous how hard I had to work at that.
I've also tried to contact Jollies directly, several times. A few addresses bounced back, and then the one that didn't simply went unanswered.

Wow, that's pretty sad. One would think that when a company makes products likes sex toys, they would ensure to contact back. With the amount of money we spend on sex toys and the miscellaneous items that come with them (cases, batteries, lubes) they would be a bit more forthcoming with information about said toys.
I can certainly see it taking a few days to get back to someone, especially with as busy and large as some of the companies are. However, to not respond at all especially if repeat communications are sent is just bad customer service. I wonder if these people realize how many customers they are/may be losing because of that. *sighs*

Has anyone that's had problems tried calling those companies customer service lines?
I know Jollies has a phone number on their site. So does CE, LELO, Evolved, Liberator, Empowered, Fun Factory, Nexus...
The only two I could think of off the top of my head but couldn't find a phone number for are Doc Johnson and Topco.

Doc Johnson is actually who I'm trying to get a hold of now and I can't find a number either. It's really a shame that they don't seem to want to get back in touch with me but then again, they may not know the answer either. Who knows? You'd think they would be able to tell me what kind of paint they used on their Titanman cock ring though....*shrug*

I've only had experience writing to Liberator awhile back about a packaging question and then just recently with another packaging change question and they haven't responded. Oh well.

Some of the Dreamgirl corsets seem to be sized by inches, such as link. I'm pretty clueless as to how the single number determines size, and I emailed Dreamgirl and EF customer service about it. Dreamgirl never got back to me, and EF was just like "Order a size up".

As an update, via AAG I got the direct email for Luze, the CEO of Jollies. Asked her my couple of questions, and yes she's aware that their website is currently having problems.
If you're doing a review and have a specific question, I'll pass along her contact info.

I've written California Exotics twice about an issue I was having with one of their toys and their responses were very canned and virtually identical - pretty much what merinus said. I don't know why they don't have reps to cover specific questions from consumers. My guess is they are more interested in making money than making good products.
07/11/2009
If I don't get a response from a company after a couple of tries, I simply won't buy any more of their products. I figure if they can't take the time to answer a simple question, then they sure as heck can't be relied on to stand behind anything they make if something goes wrong.
