In my time to play catch up I have noticed I have a handful of reviews started that I had planned to finish up today. However some of these items have been discontinued at least on Eden's. Would you still finish the review or do you think it would be a waste of time? Thoughts and positive input appreciated.

Thoughts on reviews for discontinued products

I still review discontinued products, I'm close to publishing a few myself. My thought is, you never know if these items will be carried here again. The other thought is, even if not, a review is educational. I read reviews on all types of toys, even male masturbators which I would have no use for, just to learn what's out there. It may help someone decide on a similar item that does happen to be carried here.

I say finish them- even if they are discontinued on Eden, they might be found on another website that does not have a review for it.

I would still finish them. A few products I've gotten over the years were discontinued a few months after I got them. It's still worth it to review them.

May as well finish them, just because they are no longer sold here now doesn't mean there isn't something similar here.

I have a couple that I had started on but hadn't finished yet. I guess I will publish them.

Thanks all, will get to work on finishing them up

I agree, you put the time in so you might as well go the distance and finish Sometimes it can be a little bit frustrating to fall in love with a discontinued product after reading a review, but, that's the beauty of the world wide web. It's magic at your fingertips and the item is almost guaranteed to be found elsewhere.

This was an issue brought up a few years ago. As some have already said here, there is value in writing the reviews. One point made back then was that even though EF has discontinued the product, EF wants to offer information about the products even though people buy them elsewhere because it helps EF become an information resource.

Finish them! I never look at anything as permanent so I always see the potential for the item to come back. Regardless, toys from the same company tend to run in trends of quality so it may help in that aspect.

I am still writing reviews on discontinued products, honestly with the hope that EF will bring many of these things back! I dont know why they discontinued so much or what exactly the point of it was, but it's very annoying that they did.

Thanks for your opinion, Sugarfina! Yes, indeed some products were discontinued recently. But you shouldn't worry, as EF always offers better/newer options of your favorite items

My guest is they dropped less profitable items as any business would. And selling more of own brand and affiliates to help bottom line. A vast amt of inventory sitting in any warehouse is a cash drain. I'm glad they still have some Lelo, Fun Factory and Vixen Creations though. I wanted to do a review on my 1st purchase here the njoy 2.0. However since it is discontinued, can't. Anyway there are already so many, people are probably tired of reading how good it is !

Many of EF new items are pretty much the same as other higher priced toys. I have noticed a roll out of many new items. And EF allows members to review them.
I would like to see some items similar to Bad Dragon here. They appear to be very successful and have a huge, huge following. And they don't do any pt system for purchases. Just sell a lot due to quality, design and variety even though price point is high. Their forum is tremendous also. And all they talk about is dildos. Dildo this, dildo that ! How I took it, how to use it, what to buy next etc etc
