Recommendations for Video Cameras for Video Reviews

Contributor: Drakoni Drakoni
Right now, I have a digital still camera that can take a few minutes of video at an okay quality. It worked okay for recording a quick review, but it's not that great.

What video cameras do people recommend (quality & value-wise)? Those of you who do video reviews, what do you use?

Thanks everyone!

I just use my cellphone - I have a thunderbolt that has a built in camera in it, and it works pretty well. It's a pain to convert it, and takes a bit of work, but it's the easiest that I've found thus far.

I just use a digital camera. Mine works pretty well for videos, so I'm not that worried about getting a video camea.

I just a digital camera that also takes video. I have a Samsung and a Kodak that I go back and forth between depending on what exactly I want.

If your camera will take a few minutes of decent quality video, I think that should be just fine. Video reviews should be kept at 3 minutes or less anyway, and you can always take several videos and then edit them together if needed.

(Oh I just realized you said it was the quality that wasn't good enough. So the one I use for video that gives the highest quality video and audio is my Samsung SL620.)

My husband bought me a really nice webcam - spent around $80 or so but he knew I wanted a higher quality camera for doing video reviews.
