Nominating Reviews For The Rumble.....

Contributor: js250 js250
I have noticed a smaller pool of reviews in the Rumbles lately and was just wondering:
--Do you actively nominate others?
--Do you intend to but get sidetracked before you nominate?
--Should there be a sticky thread on the forum every week to make it easier to find and follow through?
--Are you too busy or just not interested?

I intend to but forget a lot. A thread would be easier to nominate through.

Um...Should there be a sticky thread on the forum every week to make it easier to find and follow through?

From the Rumble thread:

"Please vote on the reviews below for the next Weekly Review Rumble Winner, and also post your Review Nominations on this thread below the poll. "

Also, the thread is stickied in the same place every week. It's also on the calendar and there is a clickable banner at the top of the forum.

Oops...sorry, Stormy! I guess I was either blind or missed it--will use this now! And it is out there again for those like me who did miss this!!

Pretty new to the site but I think a sticky is a good idea. I look forward to nominating more in the future.

I have noticed that too. I actually said something in last weeks rumble along the lines of "am I the only one nominating lol". It could just be that people are busier now than before. I'm not sure. I've seen weeks where it has been really slow but other weeks where it's been a huge nom list. I guess it just has it's ups and downs (like anything really).

As for your questions: I try to nominate actively but I don't. I want to start nominating more. There will be weeks I just totally forget to look for nominations. I'm not too busy and I'm definitely interested, but like I said, it just slips my mind sometimes.

What about you js250! You should answer too : D

Sure....put me on the spot!! LOL!!

I do relate to slipping my mind or getting distracted. I am definitely going to be more active and start nominating great reviews every week. I know I really look forward to the contest and also the shock and good feelings of seeing your own review on there is priceless!!

I put in a request about a year ago to make the sticky sections of the forum non-collapsible. Looks I might need to reopen that issue.

I'm probably one of a handful of people who doesn't have those sections collapsed at any time.

I try to nominate reviews, but there are days where everything is just spinning so quickly that I don't have a moment to just sit down and read reviews other than for the sake of reading a review.

I do know one thing that would make my heart sing: seeing a greater spread of users nominated. It's great the top-reviewers are consistent enough to be nominated week after week but it would be awesome to see some new faces up there as well!

Absolutely! I remember being brand spanking new and my very first review was nominated (and it was by Stormy way back in the day!!). Honestly, I had never felt so excited and proud. I love finding new contributors to nominate. It feels nice when you're an established member and nominated but it (speaking from experience) means so much more to someone who is still trying to establish themselves.

I made one nomination because I found that review really exceptional.
