Lingerie Review Question About Size Comparison

Contributor: Breas Breas
I had a question recently on one of my reviews on a pair of underwear. Someone had mentioned that it would have been nice to have the panties sitting beside an object for size comparison.

I don't add photos of myself wearing products that are bedroom only but I do give as many measurements as I can (both stretched and unstretched).

So my question is, do you think putting a pair of underwear beside say, a can of pop for "size comparison" is important or are the measurements enough? I had never thought of adding an object beside a pair of panties but I know that for toys it's helpful.

Why would you do a comparison with undies? I mean you can wad them up an toss them in a drawer. Size comparison won't help cause really all you are looking for is size measurements but hey, that is just my thoughts. I like when people put comparisons for toys cause that visual helps a lot more then measurements if you get what I mean.

That's what I figured too but I just wanted to see what the community thinks overall Thanks for the response camo!

In my opinion, a size comparison photo would've been useless for a pair of underwear. Most pairs of underwear have some stretch to them, and that stretch wouldn't have really been visible in a comparison photo.

I agree with the others, I don't believe it's necessary.

I woulnd't find that useful. Though pictures of bedroom only clothes with other clothes underneath to hide would be helpful

I chose "other." I don't consider it a requirement, but showing a pair of underwear on top of or next to another pair can help the reader determine how much coverage it offers. I wouldn't feel the need to do this for a thong, but for boyshorts or hipsters it might be useful.

I think finding something that would make a good comparison for a pair of panties would be hard, a pop can versus my wife's waist??? Pretty hard to visualize for me. Much better to have unstretched/stretched measurements, at least that way I can grab my tape and measure the wife.

I'll also add that putting two pairs side-by-side or one on top of the other of the "same" size and type of underwear from two different manufacturers can illustrate how differently the sizes run.

For me personally, measurements are plenty because then I can measure panties that I already have and compare. I guess it wouldn't hurt to put something next to the panties in a picture, though if you wanted.

I've sometimes done what Petite Valentine mentioned too, putting 1 pair of panties next to another pair of panties to compare coverage/size/etc.

I just did this with the vibrating panties I reviewed. I did it so I could show just how small they actually were. They are ridiculously small, so pairing it next to a thong that comes with a lingerie piece popped into my head. I don't think it's required because I don't think any image is required. However; it could be useful. It just depends on what the item is you are reviewing and what you compare it too.

I agree with Petite Valentine. If you are going to make a comparison, do it apples to apples, not apples to...soda

No, I think that is a bit silly.

I don't think it is necessary and agree with SMichelle.

I agree, in terms of coverage this can be important. Sometimes we want things to cover the back end properly and not half way where fabric will end up crawling up our butts. I don't think it's required that you do this if you don't feel you have a proper comparison avialable. But if you're going to compare use a brand of panties that everyone is somewhat familiar with to give a better idea.
