Do you just comment "Thank you"? I find myself doing this sometimes when I appreciate a review but have no questions or comments. I was wondering if some people perceive it as spam, though.
If you don't have anything to say...

I can't see anything wrong with a polite thanks for someones time in writing a review!
08/10/2012
I only comment if I have something to say.

If I find useful information in it I will post a thank you, as the reviewer has taken the time to get that information out there. If I don't find anything useful or different than what I already know about an item then I do not comment.

I usually don't comment much, but sometimes I comment a thanks. I don't view it as spam. All comments, no matter the content, help improve rank. So, I don't mind thanks comments at all. I don't like TY or , because I feel a reader should at least comment something other than two keys.

I do thank people for the review. I also appreciate it when people take the time to write it in my comments box.

I usually either have something to say, or have lost interest half way through reading and wandered away (if you have a link in your review, I'm going to be distracted, that's just the way it is). If I finish reading, and find the review lacking, I usually say nothing, and leave the concrit to someone more qualified. If the review was good, but I have nothing interesting to say, I might just say thank you or something similar, because I appreciate it when someone bothers to comment on my stuff.

i like to let the people know that i appreciate the effort they put into it
08/10/2012
If I'm going to comment (sometimes I don't), I will usually take a specific thing from the review to comment on, even if it is something as silly as "Yes, you're right, that does look too big."
I love, love, love comments on my reviews, but if people just want to say thanks, that's ok, too.

I see nothing wrong with being polite.

I like to post "Thank you" even if I have nothing else to say...just to be nice. I actually prefer people to leave a comment after they've voted on my reviews, it's easier for me to keep track.

I do both and many times I will ask questions!

Thanks is good enough sometimes.

If the review is written by someone I know I want to say something so they know their review is being apreciated. If I come accross a review that doesnt have many comments, I usually add a thanks or another thing I liked about their review. I think it is important to encourage quality work, so I try to add something possitive when I see it. I do not vote and comment on every review I read. If I feel I cannot give a high rating I typically abstain from voting.

This made me giggle a little. I'm the same way with links, it's like "A pretty pink link, just for me?!" And bam, attention lost.

people get higher ranks for how popular their reviews are includeing the number of comments so even if some people consider "thanx for the review" as point spamming it really is mutually benificial
08/10/2012
almost all reviews are helpful in one way or another so I feel I should thank the person who took the time to write the review
08/10/2012
I try to write at least a sentence in each comment, but I appreciate any comments I get on my reviews, even just a "thanks"
08/10/2012
I usually do, I like to say atleast something.
08/11/2012
I think its nice to say something even if it is something simple like "thanks."
08/11/2012
I don't view thanking someone for a review as spam. Especially for new reviewers, I may on rare occasion thank them if there is nothing else to say. I usually have comments or questions with new reviewers, though.
With seasoned reviewers, I might comment to agree with something etc. But, I don't usually thank them outright.

Yes, out of politeness
08/11/2012
I try to write more than just "Thank you." I really am starting to dislike how people are when they leave "ty" or "" or "yes" on reviews.
08/12/2012
If I comment, I always try to say at least one thing I liked about the review...or at least say more than just TY...Even if it's thank you for taking the time for such a detailed review...or thank you for the photos. Otherwise, I feel like I'm just commenting for the points.
08/12/2012
I usually say something like thanks or mention that they answered my questions. I always appreciate when people tell me that with my own reviews.
08/13/2012
I almost always at least write a note of thanks. It lets them know that I read and appreciate their review.
08/13/2012
If I find it particularly helpful or informative, I'll write "Thanks for sharing." I know how much work goes into well-written reviews, so I think a comment is nice.
