Has anyone purchased a new camera specifically for your reviews?

I have found out that my old digital just isn't doing it. I am considering a new one. Honestly the only thing I need it for is for my reviews. Anybody else do this? Does it sound off the wall?

Nope but it's the only thing I use my camera for. I'm not much of a picture taker and the camera was a gift.

You don't need a really expensive camera to take good quality pictures. You can usually get a decent camera fairly cheap these days. Even some cell phones have decent cameras now.

Some things that can help your picture quality:

1. Make sure you have adequate lightning. Automatic cameras need light to focus properly. Don't rely on your flash.

2. Keep the camera steady. Either invest in a tripod or prop up your camera so there is no motion from being hand held.

3. Use picture editing software to clean up the image.

I did. I also bought a box studio with backgrounds and lighting. I obsess a bit.

For what it's worth, my husband nearly DIED when he found out what I spent on a new camera...for reviews. I got bitched at for two weeks. Totally worth it. My pictures look a thousand times better.

I do have a good camera for pictures, but more importantly is the lighting and the settings.

I got my camera as a Christmas present, but I use it mostly for reviews and dirty stuff.

I would never buy a camera just for reviews. I use a camera I already had. Like Kindred mentioned, I'd just make do with whatever camera I had already. Good lighting seriously makes a HUGE difference!

I just ordered a new one actually. I will use it mainly for reviews and blogging so it's not crazy. I have one that I was content with using for a while longer but it unexpectedly stopped working.

No, not specifically for reviews. I don't think I would do that. I have a nice camera, but I need it for a number of other things, reviews happens to be one use.
