I just received some toys from a contributor with an awesome blog who seems to have a lot of success. She was kid enough to even leave me with a few really nice toys. my question is this: ethically do you think its okay for me to do both written and video reviews on these toys even if I don't have the packaging?
Do you think its okay to do a video review for a toy that you got from another reviewer?

OK, you aren't asking can you use someone else's video, right? For some reason that is the impression I had when reading the title of your post.
So you just want to write a review on toys a friend gave you and the ONLY thing is you don't have original packaging? Then there's nothing at all wrong with that. I mean if you're writing your own original, unique review based on YOUR very own experience and opinion, packaging isn't extremely important. I mean, including packaging information is just extra. There have been plenty of us who bought a toy years ago and don't remember the entire packaging, but still wrote a totally fair review. As long as it's YOUR work and all, not having the packaging info is not going to hurt.

You will need to speak with Carrie Ann about this as she is in charge of video reviews. carrieann@edenfantasys .com

That is perfectly fine. As long as you are using your content. Not everyone cares about the packaging, so readers won't even notice it's not there.

Where you got your toys doesn't matter. Approval would be the same as if you got them free for review or bought them -- so long as there are not already two videos and it's a product that is open for videos, it's usually okay
Also, packaging info is not required on any reviews other than, perhaps, descriptive reviews.
