I've been reading and rating most of the reviews lately, and I've discovered that once I see it's off-site, I tend not to click through and read it. Is this just me? Why do I do this?
Do you read and rate off-site reviews?

If it is an item I'm really interested in - I'll click through and read and then come back and rate. But only if it is something I'm already considering.

Usually I don't bother clicking through, unless it's something I'm really interested in and there aren't many reviews on EF. I think I've actually only read a few off-site reviews.
12/25/2011
I usually do, but sometimes I won't bother. It just depends how interested I am in the product. I probably click through about 75% of the time, but not "nearly always." You wouldn't think one extra click would be a deterrant, but apparently it is.
12/25/2011
I click on them. And then I rate them! I like to open them in a new tab thought, so I can keep my Eden page open too.
12/25/2011
I rarely click an off-site review. I don't know if I'm just too lazy or what. But most of the ones I've seen don't fit the same standards of what I'd call a "great review" on EdenFantasys so that's another reason.
12/25/2011
No off site reviews for me usually
12/25/2011
Like Coralbell says... you wouldn't think the extra click would be a deterrent, but somehow it is. I can't figure out why it would be.

I think it just seems like you're leaving what you came here to do and are going into diff. "world". Not sure, but I do know what you mean. I do read and rate those too though. If they take forever to load then I don't. If the background and font is all crazy and hard to read, I click off.
12/26/2011
I rarely do, I am a lazy browser and do not like going off site. Sorry guys!!
12/26/2011
I click about half of the time, Depends on how interested I am in the product.
12/26/2011
I do read reviews posted on someones blog and then go back and rate.

I usually skip them.

If I'm interested in the item I'll click through and read it, but not consistently.
12/26/2011
If I an interested enough to click the link to get to the review in the first place, one extra click isn't going to stop me from reading the entire thing.
12/26/2011
Depends on who wrote it and what the item is.
If it is something I am strongly considering... then yes. But if I see that the link goes to a known site with lots of erotic pictures it all depends on where I am will I click.

I just don't want to mess with being redirected so I too tend to skip over them.

I rarely go to the off-site review. If I'm looking at reviews here, it's because I want to read reviews -here-. I don't want to go clicking off to some other site.
12/20/2012
Not so much anymore. Before, I did frequently.
The quality of offsite reviews really varies these days.

I usually read them as well. But if the link goes dead then the whole review is gone and that's very annoying.
12/20/2012
Sometimes i do, other times i'll skip the review.entirely and wont vote on it

I'm not sure why, but I expect off site reviews to be better than the on site reviews. If someone is actively keeping a site up and running I would expect them to put more effort into their reviews.
My experience however is that is not the case. I typically find the reviews on EF more useful than the off site reviews. So I find myself clicking through less now than I did before.

I agree. It's one thing to have an error or a short review listed here on Eden, but if you have your own site why would you have a review chock full of errors and without a bunch of important info? But I see that quite a bit....odd...
