This is a first for me... 3 people commented on my latest review, but not a one of them rated it! I personally would never comment without leaving a rating, it just seems, well, not only common courtesy, but if you are really taking the time to read a review, why would you not rate it?

I wonder if this is just a result of the double points week and people are just randomly saying things on reviews just to get points. I wonder if they even really read the review.

What do you think? Do you ever comment without rating a review???

I notice that some people don't rate all the time either. Some might not realize that there is a second button to click if you want to cast a vote, so they could be forgetting that and thinking they are voting.

I sometimes comment on a review without rating it usually to welcome someone to our community or something along those lines.

I have done this on occasion. I don't think I did this to yours, though. Sometimes, I need questions answered before I can rate. Other times, the review isn't up to par, but the reviewer is new and I don't want to discourage them, so I do make a comment (which also reflects on a reviewers' rating) and wait to vote.

Sometimes I go right to the comments, as I have something to say, and forget to vote.

I've had people comment on my reviews and not vote, I don't worry too much about it.

I do sometimes comment without voting because the system says I can't vote anymore or I'm trying to make it so the system doesn't lock me out. P'Gells reasons, or I don't agree with the votes but don't want to look like I'm down voting.

Sometimes the system IP locks me from voting, but it will still let me comment, like, make forum posts, and everything else. It's just voting on reviews that it won't allow. I'm sure it happens to other people too.

sometimes I vote sometimes i dont, i usually rate and dont comment, or comment and rate, but sometimes i forget to vote or im not sure what to vote.

I will sometimes wait on the followup review to rate. The basic review might leave me hanging answer wise, but if I am doing that, I will let the person know.

They could also be making comments and holding off on voting, depending on your response too!

This has been happening to me lately.

Also, I got the feeling that newer community members are more interested in comments than ratings..

I've had this happen a few times lately myself, but it is much more likely that they vote without commenting than comment without voting.

It's not just during double points week, it happens to me on occassion as well. It's kind of annoying especially if their comment is detailed enought that it looks like they really read the review. If you took the time to read and comment it should be expected that one would rate it as well.

Sometimes I straight up forget to rate when I comment.

Come to think of it, though, I have comments from folks who didn't rate. Is it a points thing, maybe? If they've rated their 5 or whatever already, they don't bother anymore?

I'll sometimes ask a question in a comment without reviewing, since getting an answer (or if the reviewer adds the answer to the review) can affect my rating.

I sometimes won't vote if I feel that the review isn't up to par. I just feel mean rating people low, if they are new I'd rather not rate and just ask a question or a welcome comment. Maybe I shouldn't do that but I's rather not say anything at all if I don't have anything nice to say
