Buzzy Vs. Thuddy?

Contributor: AndroAngel AndroAngel
We already have options for rating the overall intensity of a vibrator and the sound level, but do you think it would be helpful to also have a rating bar to let you rate it on a scale from "buzzy" to "thuddy" sensation-wise? I think that scale would help a lot of people chose the right vibe for them, since some people prefer buzzy while others swear by thuddy.

Hehe. I'm dealing with a vibe right now that I thought was incredibly loud, but turns out just to be very buzzy & at a pitch that bugs me. So, it's nice to see someone else thinks about these things.

I don't think I'd want a separate scale personally. For one thing, "buzzy" vs. "thuddy" is a pretty subjective definition, so I think it's more helpful to have it explained in the written performance section. I'd rather have a comparison or description. For example, I am comparing the sound of this one I'm working on to a set of electric hair clippers. That brings something concrete to my mind. Also, I'm not sure the web-folk here would want to deal with adding another rating dealy when there's a good place to cover it in the written part.

I do think it's a good thing to mention, just unsure a rating bar would be the best way.

That is true, but by "Buzzy" I mean they vibrate fast while by "thuddy" I mean they have a slower, deeper penetrating vibration pattern. Both could be considered "intense" by different people, for instance, The Prosepra Dolphin Percussion Massager, which was introduced to me as a close cousin to the legendary Hitachi, is laughable to me, and the person who showed it to me seemed to think it would be "too intense". It was a thuddy vibe, which doesn't really do much for me. Where as my $9 Spencers Vibe is awesome because it's super-buzzy.

Nod, I know what ya mean. I think I'm a buzzy fan so far myself. We'd just have to make sure the terms were clearly defined for readers. Or, actually, use something like the descriptions you provided there... fast vibration vs. slow & deep.

I'm more of a slow and deep, thuddy fan. Unfortunately, most of the vibes I come across are too buzzy for me, so I'd love some sort of scale or rating system for that feature.

Yes!

In the Vibrators section, I made a thread to create a list of the low-frequency vibrators on this site . . . and it isn't easy. I suspect that I'm only going to be aroused by deep vibrations, so this is something I think would be really nice to have. If not on a scale from one to five, then an either-or type setting.
