What if you can't get a review done on time?

Contributor: Munko Munko
I did find a thread on this, but it's nearly a year old so I would like to just confirm the information in it is still correct since it seems things change quickly around here.

The deadline for free reviews is 3 weeks, yes?

I am a bit nervous now that my incoming review won't be done by then. I am in Canada and after getting dinged by UPS and brokerage fees, I switched to USPS for my order this time around. I've had things show up USPS usually around 2 weeks, but some have been more than 3 weeks coming from the states. I'm worried I might not even have my product to review in 3 weeks, nevermind get the review done by then.

Do I still e-mail JR if this is the case or is there someone else I should e-mail or PM? What happens when a review isn't done on time?

You'll get an email letting you know it's overdue. Nothing crazy!

I think you'd need to contact Justin H now, but I'm not 100% certain. I remember it used to be JR but he's been working on other programs now.

They prefer if you contact them, but it's really not a huge deal. I've found they're pretty flexible.

Unfortunatly I have been late on two reviews. I received an email asking if everything was okay and to please respond to that email. They were more than understanding, sometimes things just happen to create delays.

I did recieve one reminder on a toy which I had completed the review on. I just gave them the info they requested, we both scratched our heads, and moved on.

I agree that they understand, and as long as you are responsive and communicate the issue, I'm sure you'll be fine!

Honestly I almost never get mine done on time. I want to have enough experience to make the review useful - and EF have always been understanding. One caveat is that you cannot request new assignments until you clear up the backlog - a completely understandable limitation.

Thanks guys! I feel better now - hopefully I can get them in on time, but not much I can do if the product isn't even here by the deadline, glad to know it won't affect my ability to review or cause any problems

It wouldn't be a bad idea to just go ahead and E-mail to let them know you are aware and will get it in when you can, but I highly doubt you'll be in any kind of trouble. If it's been 2 weeks, you'll get an email asking you to please review the product. That's just your reminder if you've not done it, but they are understanding, so just email and tell them what's going on.

I thought the deadline was 2 weeks, but either way, I think they'll understand.

If the problem is that it's not arriving to you on time, then that is not your fault and in that case, I would definitely not sweat it, but I would still email them and let them know that it's not you being slow, it's the mail.
